Short Biography:
So, I'm Luxe. A simple girl from Portland with a less than simple life.
I guess things got complicated when my mother remarried. She married into money and, coming from nothing, that was catalyst enough for change. Lots of
change. Most of it not for the better. In the midst of all that change I met Emsley. When we met he was stocking fruit at a local supermarket and we
talked. He was adorable but at the time, undatable, as I was climbing the social ladder of my prep school. A prep school I later found out he
attended. Despite not being able to date him, Emsley and I became really good friends. Even better friends after a messy break-up with a long
forgotten boyfriend. Emsley was everything I needed then and he stayed that way well through junior year and the first semester of our senior year.
Just before Christmas, he and I were at dinner when a reporter for the New York Times gave him the news that his grandfather,
Duke of Kent,
had passed unexpectedly.
Not sure if you caught it:
Duke of Kent.
Emsley was royalty. A fact that he'd neglected to tell me in our 2 and a half years of friendship and dating. I was mad...for a while, I guess...but I
liked him. I loved him. And for some crazy reason that I still haven't figured out, he loves me. So we're here. Fresh out of high school and tackling
this whole Duke thing together. Well, as together as his family will allow. They don't care for me much, but I'm sure with time I can turn things
around.
I have to. For Ems.
