The food goes in here...
Devyn - 18-4-2013 at 04:46 PM
She’d shown up unannounced again. She’d sworn to him and Eri that she would never do that again, but she had no idea what to say to him over the
phone. She also didn’t want to give him the chance to tell her not to come over. It had been two days since her lunch with Dhonny and she still
hadn’t talked to Koi about...before she left. Mostly because she was stuck in a similar place to where she was last Christmas. She didn’t know
what to say about it, so she was choosing nothing at all until she was ready. It was easier this time because she hadn’t only been ignoring him, but
everyone. Well, almost everyone. She’d seen Dhonny that first day out. Then Miyu came over to the house and slept over while they caught up. Koi,
who should have really been first on the list, was next and it was a truth she couldn’t avoid anymore. She had to talk to him, as awkward as it
might have been and as unsure as she was about what would happen, she had to see him. Not just to talk, but to simply see him. She had missed
him the most while she was “darkside” and she had no problem admitting that to herself.
So here she was. At his door prepared to face him for the first time since their night together. And she couldn’t wait to see his face. Devyn pushed
the small doorbell, hearing the chime sound from inside has she had so many times before. She pulled at her shorts, tidying herself as an unfamiliar voice sounded from the other side asking her to wait a second. She did and as the door opened she came
face to face with Ipo. She’d only ever met their housekeeper once but she seemed to remember her, telling her hello before ushering her through the
front door. Devyn smiled politely as she stepped inside. Was it too much to ask for him to open the door? Just once? She always had some kind of
exchange with someone she didn’t come to see before she got to the man she’d come for. “Please, I made lunch, I’ll tell Koi he can meet you in
the kitchen.” Great.
Devyn thanked her before going off in the direction of the kitchen, memories of her first real Christmas flooding her mind as she took a seat at the
island. She could do this. She was going to see him and she could do this.

"...and when we get downstairs, you keep yo' punk ass out my fridge, nigga!"
So, maybe Koi was a little salty. It wasn't everyday that he got his ass handed to him on the sticks. And what was worse, getting it handed to him in
NBA 2k13 by a...fuckin'...dancer. Koi threw no shade, though. Dancers, especially his boy, Dhonny, did the damn thing. They were athletes and
there wasn't anyone that could do what his boy did out on the stage or the dance floor. But losing multiple fucking games...to Dhonny...in a
row? Yeah, that had hurt Koi's pride. Frankly, Dhonny's underhanded comments only made the shit worse. And by "the shit" Koi meant his annoyance. But
to be fair, everything was annoying the shit out of Koi that evening. His shitty lack of game. The picture spam he was getting on his Instagram, like
people didn't have fucking lives and all they did was snap duck lipped pictures of themselves all damn day. Ipo's menu from the evening, which just
happened to be everything that he DIDN'T want. Honestly, he was just fucking annoyed. And he'd been that way since Dhonny told him the "big news".
Devyn was back in town. And everybody knew and had seen her. Everyone except Koi.
"Dhonny. Dude. I mean it!" He shouted as Dhonny reached the bottom of the adjacent staircase that led directly to the kitchen. Ipo had called them
down for lunch a couple of minutes ago and the junk food that they'd been munching on the entire day wasn't going to convince Dhonny to play another
round. Koi was good on that though as he knew he'd probably just lose again. He hadn't been into it anyway. His mind had been somewhere else from the
moment that Dhonny mentioned Devyn. And her absence and silence with Koi kept his mind there. Roaming. Thinking about all the possible reasons why she
would have said something to everyone BUT him when she got back into town. Did she really have to say anything to him? Sure, they'd..."made up", but
that didn't mean that things were completely resolved. Koi assumed they were...and he was slowly making an ass out of himself, thinking that he'd be
the person she called first.
"Fucking...asshole. Really?" Koi asked, chuckling in disbelief as his feet reached the bottom of the stairs and he watched Dhonny do exactly what he
told him not to do...put his grimy ass face in the fridge. A head shake was all he could give his friend as his mind went back to
wondering...debating. Thinking...about Devyn and her hesitance to see him. As much as his wondering was threatening turning into worrying, he tried to
keep cool. He kept a smile on his face with Dhonny, even when he started talking about the lunch trip they'd gone on and all Koi wanted to do was
punch his best friend dead in the mouth. He wanted to throw his phone across the room every TIME Miyu asked if Devyn had hit him up yet...because
she'd talked to her twice...AND slept the fuck over! This was some shit. Wasn't it? Or was it what Koi should've expected from the girl he'd
fought with, made up with, fought with some more, made a truce with...and then slept with?
"Nigga you hear me talking to you!" He shouted, his socked feet padded on the kitchen floor to where Dhonny stood, holding the door of the fridge and
letting all the goddamn cold air out. Koi bumped the door with his hand, finally getting Dhonny's attention as he turned around, something smart-assed
fixed on his lips...but Dhonny never said it, because something else caught his eye over Koi's shoulder.
"Dev! What up, lovey?" Devyn...
Devyn - 19-4-2013 at 04:14 PM
It had been easier with Dhonny and Miyu. She could talk to them openly, freely. She didn’t have to think about how her words would make them feel
because they were different...simple. She and Koi were complicated. She had too many questions for him and she wasn’t sure how or if she should even
ask them. She could talk to Dhonny and Miyu without a problem, but when it came to Koi she was just...tongue tied. There was so much she wanted to
say...so much she couldn’t say. She couldn’t risk him. She needed Koi more than she needed anyone and she couldn’t say some of the
things she wanted to say because based on how things had gone between them before...she just couldn’t. From the sound of things though, he hadn’t
been talking to much of anyone either since she left. So imagine her surprise when she heard him speak to...Dhonny? Ooh. That was unexpected. And it
kind of complicated things. Despite not wanting to put too much on Koi, she couldn’t deny that she had to at least mention their time
together...something she wasn’t sure he’d talked about with Dhonny yet. It was the reason she hadn’t said anything when he asked her...She’d
have to play this one cooler than she’d planned...
She sucked in a breath, trying to quell the smile on her face at the sound of Koi’s voice as he cussed at Dhonny. She’d missed this too. Their
“old married couple” bickering that she usually got to instigate until they all laughed about whatever had them fighting in the first place. She
saw Dhonny first, so intent on getting to the refrigerator he sped right past her. She didn’t have the chance to say anything as Koi followed close
behind, his voice raised as he scolded his friend for doing the exact thing he told him not to. Ha. Dhonny turned around to say something smart but
his words stalled as he finally caught sight of her, her name leaving his lips.
“Hey Dhonny-,” Her teeth took in her bottom lip as she tried to stop her smile from growning, her eyes falling to Koi afterher short greeting with
Dhonny, “Kidd...hey.”
Koi - 20-4-2013 at 06:56 AM
Dev! What's up, Lovey? The fuck was Dhonny talking about? Koi's brow furrowed as he followed Dhonny's lead, turning around to face the island
in the middle of the kitchen. And there she was...standing next to one of the stools. Dressed in the same short shorts. The same black hair. Biting
her lip the same way she did when she was trying to swallow a smile. Devyn. She was here. She spoke softly, greeting both he and Dhonny
though the only name Koi was really interested in hearing fall from her lips was his own. Kidd...hey. A smile matching hers spread across
Koi's face. A careful one, not too overly anxious and barely holding back the excitement he felt at finally seeing her face. Finally hearing her
voice. Finally having her here.
"Dev..." He said slowly, leaning on the fridge so that it shut, nearly with Dhonny inside of it. Koi caught the sneer on Dhonny's face as he bumped
Koi's shoulder and made his way to Devyn, wrapping her in a hug. Koi hung back, watching the two greet each other...and wishing, quietly, that there
wasn't so much unsaid between them that he could've greeted her the same way. But he couldn't, not yet. Not in front of Dhonny. Not when they had so
much to talk about and...did they? Did they even have shit to discuss? Or was Koi doing exactly what he refused to do and knew he shouldn't have been
doing in the first place...making a big deal out of nothing. Sure, the night before she'd left had been...heavy, to say the least. They'd made up
and...made more than just "up" the entire night. And then, after that? Nothing. No calls, no texts...and Koi didn't necessarily make the attempt to do
either. She needed her space. She needed time and she needed to be with her family. She didn't need another conversation that might've turned into
another disagreement. She needed peace. And just like he had the night before she left...Koi gave her what she needed.
"Damn, Dhonny...a nigga can't greet her before you start rubbin' on her?" Koi joked, hanging back by the refrigerator as Dhonny sat on the stool next
to where she stood, his arm wrapped around her shoulders. Like usual, Dhonny stayed quiet, his goofy grin and a middle finger in the air greeting his
comment. Typical. Koi chuckled again, rolling his eyes as his gaze fell on Devyn...and kind of stayed there. He couldn't...figure out what to say.
Should he have asked her how the funeral was? Or how her family was or...he didn't know. He didn't know what to say to sound like nothing had
changed...so he didn't say anything. He just looked at her, his gaze falling away when he felt Dhonny's eyes on him.
Devyn - 20-4-2013 at 11:42 AM
Koi. She watched a smile pull at his lips and the urge to kiss him became overwhelming. Shit. This was what had taken her so long to
come here. The feelings. Don’t get her wrong, Devyn was going to keep herself in check. There wasn’t any pressure and if what happened between
them had been just a one time thing that would be cool, but...damn, if she didn’t...feel for him. Feelings that she could and would
suppress. Especially in front of Dhonny as she had no idea what he did and did not know. Or what Koi wanted him to. If their night together was
something he didn’t want getting out then she could keep that in the box of things she didn’t talk about along with her feelings. It was all good.
They were all good. And she wanted nothing more than to keep it that way.
Koi said her name as Dhonny came to her, pulling her into a hug of greeting that she easily returned. Koi could’ve done the same, but he didn’t.
Hanging back as Dhonny filled the seat beside her, his are still around her shoulders. He spoke again, teasing Dhonny about his closeness. She laughed
a little as Dhonny’s middle finger went up, their cute little spat moving on from the refrigerator argument. A short silence fell between them and
in it she and Koi just kind of stared. He was in the same place she was. Unsure of what to say and probably kind of stuck in...other thoughts. Like
how much hadn’t changed. Same bleached curls, same cute hipster swag, and that same crooked smile that happened when he was trying not to show how
pleased he was with something. He didn’t have to say it. She could see that he missed her.
He looked away, his eyes finding the floor as she realized why. Dhonny was watching. And if Koi was hiding while Dhonny was watching that meant he
didn’t know. She could work with that, her fingers coming to play in Dhonny’s hair, the way they usually did when she fell into the married couple
role the two of them played with one another. Nothing was different. Everything was everything and Dhonny would believe it. It’d be even easier to
sell if the two of them weren’t acting like touching was a cardinal sin with him in the room.
“I mean, it doesn’t look like I’m getting too much love from you,” she teased, allowing her smile to broaden, “Come over here,” she said
sweetly, her arms opening to him for a hug. She stepped away from Dhonny to meet him. She could do this if he could...
Koi - 20-4-2013 at 12:52 PM
Why did Koi even care? Why did he care that his boy was there and why the hell did that keep him from greeting, talking to or hugging Devyn the way he
wanted to the second he saw her standing in his kitchen? One reason. Dhonny didn't know. He knew about the reconciliation and how they'd
squashed the bullshit, but he didn't know HOW. He didn't know about the night Koi and Devyn had spent together. And he didn't know how nothing between
them...changed. There weren't any feelings, right? There was only friendship and mutual respect...and that was enough for the two of them. But for
Dhonny? Nothing was enough but what HE believed was happening between the two of them...the one thing that Koi would never be able to give any female
because Koi Kidd didn't do love. He just didn't. Not for anyone. And to avoid Dhonny's mouth, he'd keep doing what he was doing now.
Standing there. He gritted his teeth a little, his eyes meeting Devyn as she stood...watching her play with Dhonny's hair. Ugh. Koi wasn't
pressed. He knew the flirting that went on with Dhonny and Devyn wasn't anything real, he just...he didn't care! He didn't care! He didn't give a shit
because they were all friends in the room, right? And even if they weren't and Devyn and Dhonny were rolling that way, it would still be okay because
Koi and Devyn were...
...it doesn't look like I'm getting too much love from you. Koi smirked at Devyn quickly as she stepped away from Dhonny and invited Koi
over, her arms opened wide. He looked at her eyes for a second before he began walking towards her and he knew. She wanted to play the same game that
he wanted to play...at least in front of Dhonny. At least until they got the time to talk, just the two of them...nobody in their business but THEM.
With that in mind, he made his way over to her, pushing Dhonny's shoulder as he got closer to them.
"Welcome back..." He said quietly, his arms wrapping around her waist as he pulled her into him. 1, 2... Silently, he counted the seconds of
their hug, careful not to let it go on too long. Because as good as touching her felt...as good as she smelled...as good as his body felt pressed
against hers? He could've made that hug last the whole damn day...
Damn...he missed her.
Devyn - 20-4-2013 at 01:56 PM
Neither of them should have cared. In her opinion there was nothing to care about. She needed him and he was there for her. That was friendship.
That’s what they were right? Sure, okay, they’d had sex once. But it was probably only going to be the one time and it wasn’t that big of a
deal...right? She could pretend that was true. She knew from experience Koi didn’t do feelings so she couldn’t make too much out of it. Koi had
been what she needed and that was it. That was them. Being what the other one needed. So why the act? why the distance and the need to put on a show
for Dhonny? She wasn’t sure. But until she was, she had no problem keeping up the act. They just needed to talk. She needed Koi to tell her where
the two of them were and then they could push past these awkward gazes and uncertain hands. The could go back to being friends...
She invited him in, her arms open for the hug he had yet to ask her for. She could do this if he could. The two of them hugged all the time before the
fallout. Short, simple, sweet. The hug two friends shared in greeting. The hug neither of them was sharing now as his hands wrapped about her waist
and her hips fell into his. He welcomed her back. In her mind back to him, but he was more than likely talking about life in general. She let herself
enjoy his closeness, as she counted the seconds that he held her, her head pressed against his chest. She wanted to stay. Just like this,
with him, for the rest of the day. She wanted their morning after back, memories of breakfast in bed flooding her mind before it slipped into their
shower afterwards. She let him go then, sure that her demeanor had changed at the thought of shower sex with him. Shit.
“Glad to be back, kid.” she said drawing away, taking a few steps back to lean against the island next to Dhonny. She needed something normal to
say. Something to start a conversation and keep her mind off of the ache the distance between them was causing. “Where’s your other half?” She
asked referring to Eri. That was always a safe bet. Eri would keep her well behaved. Because the way he held her? The way he smelled? She was ready to
make their one time thing a recurring event.
Koi - 21-4-2013 at 04:21 AM
With her pressed against his chest, Koi realized for the briefest second that he'd forgotten. He'd forgotten about...that night. Yeah, he remembered
details about her...the physical things they'd shared. But other details came streaming back to him. Like, how her curves fit into places on him like
puzzle pieces. And how she felt right against him, her head pressed against his chest like his heartbeat was a song just for her. They'd laid like
that that night. Him underneath her, her body shuddering against his in the aftermath. There was peace there. The same peace he felt for the second
they were close to each other in that too quick hug. Koi fought the urge to hang on as he felt her body stiffen and begin to pull away. She had
probably been counting the seconds just like he had and knew to cut their hug short before they got a bit too obvious. He was cool with that,
especially as he caught the almost cheshire cat-like, smug ass smile on Dhonny's face. Great...
Devyn walked back the island, falling back into place beside Dhonny...and the silence lingered in the air again. Koi shifted on his feet before he
followed the footsteps Devyn had just taken to the island where Ipo's lunch spread was laid out. Cuban sandwiches and fries...eh. He didn't know what
it was but he wasn't...hungry. For good measure, he grabbed one of the prepared plates she'd set out and bit down on one of the thick cut fries Ipo
had homemade. Anything to keep his hands and mouth busy. But it seemed he didn't have to do the talking as Devyn filled the short silence with a
question about his little sister.
"Eri?" He asked, knowing who Devyn was talking about. The longer the answer, the shorter the silence right? "She's at the sitter's house tonight..."
Koi's eyes left their focus on the plate in front of him and settled on Devyn, wanting to see the reaction on her face when she found out that the
house would be empty tonight...which meant what? Damn, he really needed to get it together. So what if his house was empty tonight? He and Dhonny
would kick it that night and if Devyn wanted to join, she could! Just...a couple of friends. Shootin' the shit. Nothing changed. He kept
telling himself that and he would make a mantra out of those words if he needed to because all these second thoughts about something that probably
wasn't even going to HAPPEN again was making the situation more awkward. More tight. He needed to drop it. He gave her what she needed...and now, that
was over.
"She's gonna be pissed she missed you..." He said simply, pulling out of his gaze on her and nearly clamping his mouth shut to avoid adding on to that
sentence. Especially as his next words were ...unless you want to spend the night... Dammit...
Devyn - 21-4-2013 at 02:35 PM
She wanted to go back to him. Even as she fell back in place next to Dhonny, ignoring the curious gaze and all-knowing smile on his face, she wanted
nothing more than to let Koi hold her again. To listen to his heart beat slow as he sighed quietly and they melded into one another. She couldn’t,
so she changed the subject to something safer, asking about her little sweetheart Eri. She’d been missing from her life too, which was kind of
unfair to her. Devyn might not have owed her anything, but she was a sweet girl; Dev could have done better...she was willing to today, seeing as how
Dhonny’s eyes burning holes into her was getting really old really quick. Only, Eri wasn’t here. Oh...
Dev’s features shifted into a soft pout at the news. That meant it was just she, Koi, and Dhonny...until Dhonny left. No! No. What was she doing?
There was no need for Dhonny to leave. All three of them, could hang, as per usual, shooting the shit and teaming up on a Call of Duty deathmatch.
Nothing was different from before and she was sure once she got the chance to talk to Koi about where they stood she could really ease into normalcy.
“I’ll have to come back around to catch her. I promised her a girls’ day like a year ago,” It was true. She had and she hadn’t
delivered...Another one of those awkward silences fell between them and again Devyn made sure it didn’t linger. “D, you’re really quiet,” she
said softly, her shoulder nudging him a bit. That fucking know it all smile was speaking volumes though. Dhonny thought he knew something. Devyn
wanted to know what that was.
Koi - 28-4-2013 at 03:28 PM
The pout that appeared on Devyn's face was real. She missed Koi's little babe and the truth was that Eri had missed Devyn too. Devyn had been gone,
out of their lives for nearly a year and Koi couldn't pretend like he was the only one that felt her absence. That he was the only one that couldn't
get their head around her not being there. Eri had had a hard time with Devyn not showing up at the crib as the friendship they'd made last Christmas
was deeper than Koi could've even began to imagine. She asked nonstop questions about Devyn's "disappearance" too, but Koi couldn't give any answers.
And to be real fucking truthful, he didn't want to give any...because he knew how stupid any answer he gave would sound. I nearly slept with Devyn
and now she's gone. I fucked it up. But now he didn't have to give any answers because Devyn was back, for good he hoped...and she and Eri
deserved some time together. And if it hadn't been for Devyn showing up unexpectedly they would've had it. Koi didn't really care about the logistics,
though. Devyn was here. That was enough.
"It's good, though..." He said, his smile hitting the ground rather than the face it was meant for. "She won't be TOO mad at you." Koi's comment was
forgotten as soon as it was made as Devyn's focus switched to Dhonny. No surprise there as he'd been church mouse quiet sitting beside Devyn, that
stupid ass smile the only thing that was talking. And it was talking loud. Shit was smug as hell and it said one thing. Dhonny was figuring it
out. And Koi wasn't the only one putting the pieces to that grin together as Devyn made a comment about it, asking him what was up...prodding
him. Seeing exactly what he THOUGHT he knew.
"What?" Dhonny replied smoothly, like two of the people that knew him the best weren't figuring him out, reading that Chesire Cat smile like it was a
fucking "See Spot Run" book. What-the fuck-ever. Koi was giving him two seconds before he started spilling some shit about the "aura" in the room and
sensing some crazy shit with his "third eye".
"Dev, babe...I'm just glad we're havin' a reunion. Really..." Dhonny chuckled, his gaze leaving Devyn's face...moving to Koi's, reading the "stop the
aura reading bullshit" expression there. Instead of taking the hint, Dhonny smiled wider, the whites of his teeth peeking from between his lips. And
that's when Koi knew. He was about to start some shit.
"I'm just...feeling the vibe in here. It's all love and..." Dhonny started, his sentence faltering as he shrugged at the new look forming on Koi's
face. The one that said how far and how fast Koi would put his foot up Dhonny's ass if he started in on them the way he'd been onto Koi that entire
evening. Mentioning Devyn's name just to see the way Koi's face shifted when he heard it. Making short, annoying quips about he and Devyn's lunchdate
between all the trash talking. Koi wasn't looking forward to Dhonny running his mouth again...especially when his was the last voice Koi wanted to
hear. It was obvious what he wanted...time with Devyn. Time to talk about the things they'd left unsaid for too long. And he wanted Dhonny to get the
fuck out so he could do it.
"...and I just remembered that I've got shit to do...upstairs. So. You two play nice." And it seemed that Dhonny was going to do the smart thing and
take his damn leave as he picked up the plate Ipo had made for him. With a quick kiss to Devyn's cheek, Dhonny jogged up the stairs, throwing that
same damn grin over his shoulder until he was out of sight.
Devyn - 28-4-2013 at 04:40 PM
Devyn had missed Eri. She and Eri had made something of a deep connection that Christmas and not seeing her since was really unfair. To Eri and to
Devyn. But it wasn’t as if she had a choice. She and Koi hadn’t necessarily taken the time to lay out a custody agreement before their
non-breakup. And she couldn’t necessarily just drop in back then. They weren’t friends. But they most certainly were now; maybe something a little
more than that. At least that was what Dhonny was thinking. It was written all over that smug little smirk of his, teasing her with the things he
thought he knew. He was wrong though...or was he? Devyn didn’t know and she couldn’t know until Dhonny gave them some space. They had shit to talk
about that Koi obviously didn’t want him knowing (which was a whole other worry in itself for her). She would love some alone time with him. Time to
talk.
So she prodded Dhonny, asking why he was so quiet. He tried to play stupid, as if he didn’t know what Devyn was talking about, but everyone in that
kitchen knew better. Dhonny was a lot of things but stupid wasn’t one of them. In fact, Dhonny was pretty fucking astute and it was just that that
had Devyn calling him out. He thought he knew something and she wanted to know what. Hell, maybe she had been reading this whole thing wrong and
Dhonny knew everything and Koi’d made him swear not to talk about it. She doubted that though. It just didn’t seem...right...
Dhonny fed her a line about him just being happy the band was back together and she scoffed, a soft giggle leaving her. “Is that what that cheshire
cat smile is about-,” she questioned playfully, a hand going back to his scalp as she leaned into him. “You’re a bad liar Dhruv Ross.” She
smiled at him and he began again, assuring her that he was just “feeling the vibe”. Uh huh. Her eyes stayed on his, but Dhonny’s had looked back
to his plate, his hand picking up a fry before looking at Koi. He stopped mid-sentence, a mute shrug on his shoulders and Devy was sure, without even
looking, that Koi was the reason for the change of course.
A major change as Dhonny finished his sentence by telling them he was...leaving? Devyn smiled as he moved away from her, his lips kissing her cheek
before he took his leave without another word. God, he was a know it all ass, but he was just too sweet not to love. Taking Dhonny's seat, she smiled
at the thought before it hit her that she and Koi were...alone. Her smile didn’t fade as yet another uncomfortable silence fell between the two of
them. She didn’t know what to break it with this time. She wasn’t sure what he wanted to hear and to be quite honest, she had no idea what to say.
She could apologize, but she wasn’t sorry about anything that had happened between them. She could lie, but she didn’t want to. Not to him. So she
told the truth, her voice low with her eyes still in her lap.
“I missed you...a lot, actually.”
Koi - 29-4-2013 at 04:32 PM
The silence settled over the kitchen as soon as Dhonny vanished upstairs...or pretended like he was vanishing upstairs as he was still the nosiest
nigga that Koi had ever met. But Koi had never known his boy to be so nosy that he turned into Harriet the fuckin' Spy or some shit, so he was pretty
sure that he and Devyn were alone. Finally. And with them by themselves, all the things that Koi was saying with his eyes could be said with something
ten times more useful...like his mouth. Right. Wrong. The best he could do was watch her sit in the seat that Dhonny had just vacated
and...that was it. He watched. The smile that didn't drop from her lips. The way her curls tumbled to the side as she messed them the way she did when
got nervous. Or maybe it was because she didn't know what to say. That made the two of them. So they just...watched each other. Waiting for some way
to break that damn awful silence.
I missed you...a lot, actually. Looking into her face, Koi felt himself smile. Even though he couldn't see her eyes, he knew she was telling
the truth. She missed him. Even though she'd hit up Dhonny and Miyu first thing and she'd saved him for last...she'd missed him. Koi didn't know why
the confession made him warm inside. He didn't know why he couldn't hide the smile on his face now. All he knew was that with her words, she let him
know. Nothing changed... They'd made peace. They'd made more than that and when they did, they sealed shit between them. And crazy enough, it felt
like nothing could fuck them up now. Nothing.
Closing the small space between where he stood and where she sat, Koi hovered over her, his hand leaving his side as it wrapped around her wrist,
pulling her from the stool. He lifted her chin, his back bending to her height...his lips touching hers softly.
"A lot...ain't the word, Hips." He whispered against her lips before he took them in, his kiss pulling them before she opened to him. He
didn't hesitate to taste her, their tongues falling into a routine he didn't even know they'd memorized. His hand went to her back, pulling her to him
like there was actually an inch of room between them. There wasn't. He felt like he was crushing her but the thirst was real. Their kisses slowed as
they held each other. Smiling against her lips, his arms tightened around her waist, lifting her off her feet.
"For real...welcome back." His words fell between their short pecks, his eyes meeting hers before they fell into their kiss again.
Devyn - 29-4-2013 at 07:37 PM
She could take it. Whatever he decided to say about where they stood was going to be fine. She had given him time to think about the things that had
happened that night, she had basically ignored him while she was “gone”, and he was the last person she reached out to when she “got back”.
She would understand if he was upset...The silence that settled between them was deafening, but it was speaking volumes at the same time. Koi didn’t
know what to say either. Neither of them wanted to say the wrong thing so each of them was stuck. Stuck between wanting to spill a stream of their
feelings or let them trickle out bit by bit. Devyn spoke first choosing the later.
She couldn’t look at him when she said it but she really had missed him. She expected questions. If that was true why didn’t you call? Why
wasn’t I the first person you came to when you got back? She expected them but they didn’t come. The silence lingered as he came closer to
her, her eyes snapping up to meet his as he hovered over her and what she saw there was...something it couldn’t be. She wasn’t seeing what she
thought she was seeing because Koi didn’t do feelings. He didn’t do...her thoughts stopped as he pulled her from her seat, lifting her face to his
and speaking against her lips. A lot wasn’t the word. It didn’t suffice. It wasn’t enough. She agreed.
And she might have told him that except she became lost in the kiss they were sharing, her lips parting to taste what she had been missing for so
long. She heard herself moan as he pulled her impossibly closer, her arms falling around his neck as she tried to do the same. Devyn could only think
more. She wanted to make up for the weeks they’d been apart and she wanted...more. More him. More this. More them.
The kisses slowed but neither of them backed away much. Devyn was fighting the smile that threatened to pull at her lips but she could feel his, her
lips continuing to peck at his. She felt him tense as he lifted her from the floor, her legs wrapping easily around his waist. He spoke, welcoming her
back yet again. “Shhh-,” she paused, her lips meeting his again. “More.” It was still the only word she could think and right now, it was all
she needed. More him. More this. More them.
Her body bucked against his as their kiss began again, slower this time. Deeper. This really wasn’t why she’d come here. She’d wanted to talk to
him. Figure out where the two of them stood in this whole thing after their night together and then another few weeks apart. But this was better
right? This was...mmm. She moaned again his name mumbled against his lips. She probably should have stopped what was happening between them now. She
should have told him that this wasn’t a friendship. But maybe it was. It was a friendship plus what she’d asked for...More.
Koi - 4-6-2013 at 07:30 PM
Shhh. More. Her commands stopped everything. Every word. There weren't anymore words...because all that they needed to say had already been
said. They missed each other... That was enough. Right? For the moment, Koi wanted it to be, especially with Devyn wrapped him the way that
she was, her body pushing against him, his arms wrapped around her waist as they kissed. Space between them was so nonexistent that their heartbeats
damn near echoed each other. Her upbeats matching his. His downbeat repeating hers. That was how it always was with them. Their bodies falling into so
much synch that words were forgotten...and actions and moans became primary communication. And even though there were things that needed to be
said...things that should've been said the moment they were alone, they went back to what they knew. Touch. Koi's hands moved to the thighs
that gripped his waist, tightening at the warmth of Devyn's skin underneath his touch. And even though he'd held her what felt like a thousand times
before, it was like the "first time" again. It felt like the "first time" every time. The jump in his pulse. The warmth that fell over him. The rush
of his nerves igniting. All of it...just from the sensation of her.
No words? That was fine with him as his lips were too preoccupied to worry about shit like "words" and "discussions"...at least that what his mind was
telling him. The same mind that was so wrapped in the moment between them that everything else took a back seat. Everything except for Devyn. And
Devyn's lips. And Devyn's moans...and, damn, Devyn's nails raking down his back. Nothing fucking mattered...even though somewhere, in the
list of things that should've been relevant as fuck, the things they needed to "discuss" were probably number one. Like the night she'd come for
him...in more ways the one. And what all of that shit...meant. Yeah. That. Those thoughts. They did exist. Somewhere. But that somewhere
wasn't here. Not now. Not while he had her in his arms...
Without breaking their kiss, Koi lowered Devyn on the top of the island, his hand finding its way into her curls, his grasp tilting her head
slightly...his kiss leaving her lips and falling to the crook of her neck. This was dangerous... Koi knew it. They weren't the only ones in
the house...and where this kiss was headed...the little secret that they'd silently decided to keep? Yeah...it was about to be wide the fuck in the
open. Right in the middle of the kitchen...
Devyn - 5-6-2013 at 05:23 AM
He was giving her what she asked for, his voice going silent as his lips kept talking to her. Kissing her. Tasting her...They didn’t need to speak
because, as usual, this was enough. Everything they needed to say was being conveyed in moans, sighs, and touches that were quickly becoming more than
she meant them to in his kitchen with other people in his home. But she couldn’t stop. Not now. Not yet. She had missed him and for some reason this
felt more real than just saying it...Or maybe she was worried that if she kept saying it with words ‘missed’ would become a word neither of them
was ready to hear. So she asked for more. The quiet was golden and it had already put her in a place where next to nothing mattered. Not her mom, not
the conversation they needed to have, not anyone or anything outside of she and him, in this space, right now.
Her hands slipped from around his neck, sliding down his chest before reaching around to rest on his back, somehow pulling him further into her. Her
hands slipped, raking over his back as he sat her on the island. They couldn’t have been closer...well they could’ve been, but not in his kitchen,
right? Not...Damn. She felt his hand come to play in her hair and she moaned he pulled it a little, tilting her head to get at her neck. This
boy was pressing buttons that he couldn’t unpress and if he wasn’t careful Dhonny would know first hand what the two of them were keeping from
him. Shit...Koi’s kiss turned to a suck and her eyes lulled closed as Devyn felt the rest of her resolve falter. Fuck it. Fuck
him... One of her hands came between them her fingers tucking themselves just behind the band of his basketball shorts. Half of her was telling
herself there was no way the two of them wouldn’t get caught, but the other was screaming to do him anyway.
Luckily, or maybe unlucky, for the two of them, it wasn’t a decision that was in their hands any longer as a voice sounded that was neither Koi’s
nor Devyn’s, “Koi Kidd, I know you’re not doing what I think you are in your mother’s kitchen-,” her voice was chiding as if he were
stealing cookies before dinner, but that didn’t stop Devyn from nearly pushing Koi over before hopping off of the countertop, a soft ‘oh God!’
on her lips as she stood to her feet, avoiding eye contact with Ipo at all costs.
Jesus! It was like all they knew how to do was get caught!
Koi - 5-6-2013 at 06:16 PM
Actions were speaking louder than words could...or ever would at least when it came to Koi and Devyn. This was the typical. The "go to". The
predisposed reaction whenever an action brought them together. Audible shit didn't have to transform into words. Just groans...like the soft one
leaving Koi's lips as he gently pulled at the skin on Devyn's neck, his tongue tasting the sweetness of her skin. And then there was the physical.
That shit talked. It screamed...louder than any explanation could of what they were. Of who they were to each other. And even if in the
particular situation words, where were probably needed, Koi didn't want words. Words made shit difficult. This was easier. Touching. Teasing. Tasting.
Too much talking fucked perfection up. And this was perfection. Letting the feeling of Devyn against him wash over him like some repetitive high.
Feeling the shudder of pleasure run the length of her body. Who needed words? What the fuck for? All Koi needed was this. And whatever this led
to...
And "whatever" looked like it was heading that way fast and without hesitation. No hesitation... Koi liked that. No thinking...no fucks
given. Not even with Dhonny upstairs, hopefully minding his own damn business. And even if he wasn't...at this point? Koi didn't give a shit. He was
there...and Devyn was too. And that was all that concerned him. Bedroom, kitchen, bed, counter. The shit was all synonymous. And it could keep
sounding the same, words and meanings blurring together with Devyn's body pressed against him. He would care later...after. After "whatever" turned
into something more tangible and he was more than just pressed against her. And it looked like she was thinking the same thing, her hand leaving his
back and moving between them...moving to the band of his shorts...teasing him as they slipped behind it and...
Koi Kidd... All he need to hear was his government name in that voice and there was about a foot of personal space between he and
Devyn. Not like he needed separate himself from her as Devyn pushed from underneath him and slid off the counter top.
"Oh shit..." He laughed, rubbing his hand over curls to hide the red of embarrassment that had begun to settle in his hot cheeks. "That wasn't what
it...yeah I'm lying. That was exactly what it looked like..." Another chuckle left his lips as he leaned against the side of the island and grimaced,
looking into Ipo's unamused expression...which he could barely do without laughing again. Because laughter would've just made the displeasure in her
narrowed eyes more apparent than it already was.
"I'm sorry?" He tried, Ipo's expression didn't change. Instead, she chuckled and rolled her eyes, shifting the strap of the purse she carried further
onto her arm.
"Okay, you two..." She said, sighing heavily. "I'm leaving for the day. At least try and behave..." Turning on her heels and walking to the foyer
before she got an answer. Ipo knew better. She'd worked for the Kidd family long enough to know that "behaving" was asking a lot. A whole fucking lot.
But she could hope if she wanted to...
Devyn - 6-6-2013 at 04:21 AM
She fucking hated this house! It was where a majority of her most embarrassing moments had occurred and she could add this one to the list. She
couldn’t believe what she’d almost done in this kid’s kitchen. With Dhonny upstairs. With Ipo close by, and now in front of the two of them as
they separated like atoms with the same charge. She felt her cheeks begin to heat as she ran a hand through her hair and turned partly to Koi hoping
he’d explain better than she could. He didn’t. His face was turning candy apple red as he took the “who me?” stance that all caught men take.
She sighed as he gave a laugh that matched his barely there embarrassment. Not funny! Nothing about the two of them getting caught about to have sex
in his parent’s kitchen was remotely funny! And then came his attempt at an explanation. That wasn’t what it...
“Oh my God Koi, please stop,” she swatted at him, the back of her hand connecting with his stomach. That was exactly what it looked
like...This guy! Neither she nor Ipo were amused and he was doing nothing to make it any better. Even his questionable apology didn’t seem to
soften her. Devyn probably should have given one too, but the look on Ipo’s face told her silence was probably better...or maybe Dev was wrong, a
chuckle falling from Ipo as she rolled her eyes at the two of them. Devyn heaved a small sigh of relief and a small, polite smile pulled at her lips
as Ipo announced her departure. Behave? She could try...Ipo was out of sight before either of them gave a response about their intent to behave.
Perhaps she already knew better...
Devyn was the first to speak, yet another sigh on her lips as she reclaimed her seat. “I hate you so much. I just thought you should know,” she
said it, but the smile on her face betrayed her true feelings. Which were...what? They still hadn’t talked about anything they were supposed to what
with their mouths being...otherwise engaged. “Maybe we should try this “behave” thing.” Devyn laughed a little at the thought. As if that
would last for too long.
Koi - 7-6-2013 at 06:14 PM
How was this not kind of funny? Because even though his cheeks were burning and Ipo was probably two seconds from letting his Moms know what
had almost gone down on her kitchen counter space, Koi couldn't help but let go of a amused laugh. It never fucking failed when it came to Devyn.
If something was going down, there was a 90% chance they were getting caught. And sometimes, all you could do was laugh about that shit...or
avoid eye contact, which was the route that Devyn was deciding to take. Hey, it could've been worse. Exhibit A? That night by his pool. THAT had been
the pentacle of embarrassment and if they hadn't done some fast moving, he would've never lived that one down. On the list of "getting caught fails",
that one would've topped the cake. Scarring your sister for life is something that sticks in the memory banks a lot longer than "got caught by the
housekeeper". Even his Pops wasn't phased by that one and that fucker was married. This little mishap was the least of Koi's worries and the
laughter that was pushing at his lips was a sign of that.
All the laughter that Koi was holding onto broke through his tight-lipped smile as Ipo left the room. He couldn't help it! And as soon as Devyn
stopped being so damn concerned, she would laugh too...at least he hoped she would as she moved back to her seat beside the island.
"C'mon!" Koi said, her playful anger making him smile even harder. Moving closer to her, he nudged her arm, his hand coming up and tugging
mischievously on one of her long curls. "It could've been worse, babe. It could've been Dhonny..." His whispered words were true, no matter if she
wanted to admit it or not. Dhonny catching them would've been worse than Ipo's narrow eyed glare. Any day. And wasn't that the opposite of what they
wanted. Not that Koi wanted to keep secrets from one of the best friends he'd ever or would ever have. It wasn't that at all. It was just...he didn't
know. And Koi meant that literally. He didn't know what any of this meant. Not what had happened the night before Devyn left for her mother's funeral.
Not what had just happened in the kitchen...and what could've happened if Ipo hadn't intervened. And was just...something about people being in
business that they hadn't even sorted out yet.
"Behave? What is...I literally don't know what the fuck that word means." The serious look on his face almost slipped as he parted her legs, moving
between them. Bending over her, he kissed her forehead before he lowered his lips to hers, pecking them quickly.
"Seriously. You wanna behave? We'll behave."
Devyn - 7-6-2013 at 07:18 PM
C’mon! No! Not come on! She didn’t care how perfect his smile was or how cute he was being with his fingers playing at her hair. This
wasn’t funny...much...It seemed she was right about their night together being a one off, because they were destined to be interrupted by any and
everyone. Except Dhonny as Koi pointed out. It was her turn to laugh as she thought of just the face Dhonny would have if it had been him. That
fucking know-it-all smirk and his signature “I told you so face”. Dhonny didn’t judge but whether he knew it or not he did gloat when someone
proved him right. Never with words, but his expressive ass face made those irrelevant. But, in all seriousness, Koi was right. Dhonny would have been
the worst to catch them here because that would have lead to questions and questions would have lead to answers that neither of them knew yet because
they hadn’t spoken to one another.
Devyn sighed, suggesting that they take Ipo’s advice and at least try to behave. They really did need to figure this out. This...them. She was ready
for it. If things had changed with him or if they remained the same Dev was going to be cool about it. She would be cool about it because...she
couldn’t lose him. Not again. Not for another unbearable year of adding him to the long ass list of shit she tried and failed not to think about.
With her mother at the top of that now she wouldn’t be able to handle it. Devyn was going to be completely zen about however Koi was feeling...but
it would have been nice to know something solid with all the mixed signals they were throwing. They parted ways as friends, but here they were making
out and back to pet names. She was glad he wasn’t calling her ‘homie’ though.
His words interrupted her thoughts as he kept up this adorable, playful, little banter that was making her...fuck. He parted her legs,
sliding between them before his lips fell to her forehead in the sweetest kiss. She only stared, unable to think of anything to say to this
Koi. This was the Koi she was always stunned around. The Koi from their Christmas together. The Koi that showed when he was busy adoring his
sister...and his other babe...his lips pecked hers before he said something else but...what? Ugh! He was doing this on purpose! She smirked, her hand
meeting his chest before she gently pushed him back, her legs closing in front of him.
“Maybe I should go upstairs and see if Dhonny knows what behave means,” her smile grew, “You think it’ll be something like this or no?” She
watched his features shift as the beginning of a pout formed. Ha. Now things were funny. “Awww, kid. Don’t be like that. I’ll be good if you
will.”
Koi - 10-6-2013 at 05:46 PM
"Behave" was a word that was left up to the interpretation of the person using it. At least in Koi's mind that was truth as he'd never tried to make
that word into an action his whole damn life. And he wouldn't start now, no offense to Ipo. Yeah, his housekeeper was damn near the closest thing he
had to a mother some nights as she seemed to care a whole lot more than his own did, but behaving wasn't on the agenda for the evening...especially
now that Devyn was back and shit was right with the world. They were right. Things could go back to what could be barely described by the
word "normal", but it was normal for them. Dhonny would keep being the nosy sensei he was, Miyu would be THE sickiest Asian on the island...and he and
Devyn would go back to being thick as thieves. Even if no one could understand it, they would. And that was all that Koi needed. Who needed to
"behave" when shit just got back to being lovely again? Nope, no behaving that night. They'd call Miyu over, roll a few, pop open a couple of the Moet
bottles his Pops have been saving for the day the entire earth realized how amazing Shemar Kidd really, truly was (never gonna fucking happening) and
they'd party until people were so shitted...that they wouldn't notice he and Devyn slipping off to his room. And maybe then they could finish what
they'd started in, how'd Ipo put it? Oh, yeah...in his mother's kitchen.
Koi smiled as Devyn intercepted another kiss to her glossed lips. His eyebrows rose as she pushed him from between her legs, her smile growing as she
began to speak and even before she got the words out, Koi knew she was about to say something crazy. Dhonny. Oh. For real? Unintentionally,
his nose crinkled, his top lip curling before he could catch it. The fuck was she bringing up her...hubby for? Koi couldn't even begin to
describe how annoyed that shit made him. That married couple act that Dhonny and Devyn stayed playing around with was beyond stupid.
"That's messed up..." He said, rolling his eyes as he stepped back, not needing her push to put distance between them. Sure, Dhonny was his boy. There
wasn't anyone tighter than the two of them and nothing had or would ever get between them. But THAT shit? Koi could barely tolerate it. All up in each
other's faces like Dhonny just got done diggin' it out on some honeymoon shit or something.
"Keep playin'. You already know what's up, hips." Koi said with a smirk, the pout erasing off of his face as he reminded Devyn, with one
word, how much something with Dhonny, for jokes or for real, would never Koi. Just like she'd said the first night they almost got into it at his
house party, Hips was just for him. And he knew she meant that shit...
"But I can be good. See?" He held up his hands as he leaned against the island again. "Hands to myself. I'll be good. Just for you..."
Devyn - 11-6-2013 at 05:46 PM
She couldn’t help the small giggle she gave as she watched his features shift, his nose wrinkling in mild disgust at the mere suggestion of Devyn
and Dhonny “behaving” with one another. The idea was ridiculous of course. Dhonny was more like the brother Devyn was missing now that Kareem
was...Kareem. Dhonny was genuine and he actually gave a shit. That’s where her love for him ended though...Not that she hadn’t given him the once
over when the first started hanging out, but now things were different; they knew one another and now even kissing Dhonny would just be strange...But
that didn’t mean their closeness wasn’t an annoyance to Koi. She and Dhonny had always played the “couple” game and before shit got messed up
between Koi and Devyn and the group was the group, she would laugh at Koi getting all in his feelings over nothing. It was still funny, but she was
starting to reevaluate the reason why Koi got touchy when it came to she and Dhonny.
It was why they were really here wasn’t it? A definition, however loose, of what the two of them were to one another. An explanation of all the
things neither of them had taken the time to explain the night she found out about her mom. Devyn had questions, and she was sure Koi had a few
himself. Them skirting around the issue, no matter how fun their particular form of “skirting” was, was only going to make things more
complicated. She was sure Dhonny was upstairs brimming with a few questions too, and whether they resolved to tell him to mind his fucking business or
gave him the story from start to finish, Devyn wanted to know first. Where did they stand?
She smiled at him as he vowed to be good. Just for her. “Just for now,” she said quickly. “I want you to be bad for me later though.” Devyn
paused, partly deciding whether or not she wanted to change her mind about being bad later and just skipping this whole...thing they were about to do.
Koi knew how she got when he gave her the look he was giving her now, his eyes hitting all the parts of her he probably wanted to put his mouth on,
with that sexy little lip lick...Damn, he was so fucking... Devyn sighed, crossing her legs as she looked away from him. She opened a door.
It was time to walk through it.
“I mean...If that’s...a thing with us...”
Koi - 12-6-2013 at 06:28 PM
Just for now decency? Koi could do that. Not that he needed to show his ass twenty four- ah, who the fuck was he kidding? He was a nasty motherfucker.
Plain and simple. But he kind of owed Devyn a moment of good behavior considering how her cheeks were still a light shade of red after that run in
with Ipo. On that fact alone, he'd do it for his homie. Besides, the air was still heavy in the kitchen...like something weighted was still there
between them that hadn't been mentioned yet. Or better yet, had been avoided. And like he said before, he didn't mind avoiding when that avoidance
involved him touching Devyn the way he had moments ago. Sex was the escape. It kept them from facing the shit that they weren't ready to define. Like
the night she spent with him. There were eons of shit that needed to be said about that night. But the truth? He low key didn't even want to discuss
it because that night had done enough to cross lines and confuse niggas. And part of him wanted to avoid that it had done just that for him.
"Oh shit...I can do that." He spoke softly, licking his lips as his hands dropped to the sides of the island. He clenched them to keep from moving
back to the place where Devyn stood. She'd already pushed him away once and the same would happen again...because it was time to stop avoiding. At
least that's what her eyes said while all his were doing was the ordinary undressing of her curves. It couldn't be helped. His bitch was a bad
one. But she asked something of him and he wouldn't break his promise to her.
"And...that's supposed to mean?" He asked, chuckling a little at her stumbling over her words. A thing with us? What was that supposed to
mean? How they tended to avoid the obvious? Or...the one thing that Koi wasn't really...he didn't know HOW to discuss without collars getting tighter
and nerves getting shook.
"Take a breath...and just talk to me..." Koi smiled again, trying to diffuse some of the nervousness that he heard in Devyn's voice...but all he
really found himself doing was trying to cover up the nervous he was feeling himself.
Devyn - 12-6-2013 at 07:38 PM
And...that’s supposed to mean? He knew what the fuck it meant! Koi knew damn well what she was talking about and he was dead wrong for
playing like he didn’t...she got it though. Neither of them really wanted to discuss what they were to one another now. It was labels that got them
in trouble the last time they’d gotten hot and heavy...but time had gone by and things had changed. labels weren’t at all necessary and there was
no pressure on Koi for anything...well, a few answers, but those were necessary! All she needed to know was what to say when people asked about them.
In mere minutes either they would go upstairs or Dhonny would come down and she was sure his first question would be something along the lines of
“Are you two friends now?”...she needed to know too.
She sighed, taking the suggested breath before trying to talk to him about what was obviously a taboo subject for him. But she wasn’t going to put
this all on her, oh no. Koi was the decision maker for this one, it was the way things had to be and she was fine with it. She just wanted to make
sure he was always around. “I’m not trying to make things awkward Koi, I just...-,” her words trailed off as she wasn’t sure how to put what
she wanted into words. She just needed to...know about them. But she was trying to avoid using words that made them sound like a connected
unit. She didn’t even want to hint at them being a couple for fear of scaring him off again. Just talk to me...Okay.
“I need you. And I know that sounds stalker-y, but it’s not. I mean I don’t mean for it to be-,” she paused sighing again as she tried to
clean up the mess she’d made with the few words she’d spoken. “What I mean is...you’re holding me together kid. I kinda need that right
now.” That was pressure. It was too much. She was laying too much on him and it was probably doing the opposite of what she needed it to...but fuck
it. He told her to just talk.
“Just tell me what we’re telling people...”
Koi - 13-6-2013 at 05:06 PM
And with a couple of words, Devyn pretty much proved his assumptions correct. They were about to have "the talk". The discussion that Koi
hadn't even wanted to touch just to avoid the shit that they always seemed to get themselves into when they went there. The arguing. The fighting. And
then, in the end, the silence. The complete radio silence between the two of them, fueled by anger and all that goddamn stubbornness when neither of
them gets their way. Koi wasn't ready for that place again. He never wanted that place again...not for them. Things were good now, weren't they?
They'd squashed the bullshit long enough to start something new between the two of them. They weren't just friends anymore. They weren't just "homies"
which was why the name that Koi had called Devyn for so long would never fit the way it always used to. After the night together...things had changed.
But...they kind of were the same. Koi didn't...he wouldn't fuck that up. Awkward wasn't what Koi was afraid of when it came to them.
Done was.
In the short silence, he started to open his mouth and say something, anything to break up the silence...but seeing the look on Devyn's face made him
close it. She had something to say. I need you... She needed him? He shifted on his feet, his brow furrowing at those words. She needed him.
Koi was needed. Something inside of Devyn needed something inside of him and...it scared him. Not because of what that meant. But because of what it
meant for him. Koi wasn't dependable. Not at the least bit. He was too much like his fucking father and not enough like his mother. He failed people.
He disappointed...often. He wasn't someone that somebody usually needed. He was the one that people didn't want to see coming because of the trouble
and confusion that he brought with him. Koi wasn't...nobody needed motherfucking Koi Kidd.
But she did... As Devyn's words hit him, talking about how he was "holding her together" and how she needed that from him, he understood.
Her moms. With everything that she'd lost, she needed something to need. She needed someone who would give her what she needed. And Koi made
a promise the night the slept together...that he would that for her. Whatever she needed...he'd be that for her. And nothing changed that. Not his
doubts...not his fucking fears. He'd get over that shit and try his damn hardest for her. Without words, his hand reached for hers, pulling it from
her lap, intertwining their fingers.
"I got you, Hips..." He said quietly, smiling at her as she looked up at him, his fingers rubbing against hers.
"And we can tell nosy motherfuckers whatever we want to. Fuck 'em." He muttered, staring at their joined hands. "It's nobody's business but ours. And
you know who I am...and I know who you are. Right?"
Devyn - 14-6-2013 at 02:55 PM
She didn’t want to fight with him. She wouldn’t let it go there. If this conversation went sour fast, which it had the potential to do, she would
not hesitate to squash the entire thing and let “behave” take a back seat. After speaking she immediately wanted to take each and every one of her
words back. I need you. What the hell was she thinking? She watched his features shift, the discomfort in his demeanor clear as she tried to
clean up what she’d just said. But she couldn’t really. It was too honest to be covered or backtracked. She needed him. The only thing that had
passed since their night together was time. Her mother was still gone and she still felt it. Every minute of every hour of every day. And as hard as
she tried to hold things together in front of people, she wasn’t even half of herself anymore. She couldn’t pinpoint what it was about Koi that
she needed, but it was him. In general. That was true the first night and it rang even truer now.
Devyn’s gaze slipped as she finished her little honesty hour and she waited for him to tell her that this was too much. That he wasn’t meant to be
needed and she’d have to find someone else. She got that...kind of. Being needed meant he’d have to be responsible, dependable. Two things Koi had
admitted to not being on more than one occasion. She was asking him to change...but not really. All she really wanted was for him to
stay around. That year they spent on the outs couldn’t happen again. She couldn’t stomach being without the one guy that made her focus on the
positive things in her life rather than the negative. And...she wouldn’t have to.
I got you, Hips... She looked up as his fingers slipped between her and he spoke. He would be there. Koi wasn’t going anywhere and that was
all she really needed to hear. She smiled as he kept talking, telling her, however vaguely, what they were telling people. And in true Koi fashion
that “what” was “what-the-fuck-ever-they-felt-like”. She could do that...but there was nothing to explain to anyone right now. In fact...
“You know-,” she paused, standing as she again closed the distance between them, her arms coming to wrap around his neck, “This ‘behave’
thing gets really old really fast.” She smirked and then her lips met his again in hopes that they might get just a little farther than they had
before they were interrupted by Dhonny this time.

--Weeks Later--
Thursday night at Koi’s house. Valentine’s Day at Koi’s. He’d had practice after school so she hadn’t made it over here until about
six, but they’d spent the last three hours practically glued to one another. She knew when he called what he was asking for. Come over
here and chill with me. We’ll watch a movie or some shit...Yeah. They hadn’t made it past the opening credits before said movie was watching
them pull one another’s clothes off. He wasn’t slick! Little did he know, Koi didn’t have to make up an excuse to see her on any day,
Valentine’s Day especially. She’d decided when she heard the words ‘come over’. Dev wasn’t going to lie, what she and Koi had would have
been confusing. ‘Would have’ because neither of them thought about it long enough to truly call it anything that might stir up the feelings that
turned everything to shit. They were friends. Just friends and that was what worked for the two of them.
Some days, more so than others. Like today. They hadn’t had any kind of conflict, literally all day. Not at school and certainly not during
their...chill session, so Devyn was in the highest of spirits as she descended the stairs leading to the kitchen, her mind focused on a cold
glass of apple juice and not so much on keeping Koi’s shirt covering her ass. Who cared really? Eri was at a friend’s house and his parents
were...out, as usual. According to Koi no one would be home until well after midnight so she wasn’t worried about a thing.
Her bare feet padded across the cool linoleum of the kitchen floor stopping just in front of the fridge where she got what she’d come for. Juice.
What? Sex with Koi was tiring. He’d say the same if he wasn’t upstairs half-dead asleep. And as it turned out, Valentine’s Day sex was better
than make up sex, or high after a party sex...or it’s Tuesday and I don’t have practice sex. All of the above usually made her hoarse
though and apple juice was going to soothe her today.Pulling the bottle from the fridge she set it on the island before going to the cabinet for a
glass.
She turned around just as the lights in the kitchen were flipped on.
Fumie - 27-6-2013 at 04:28 PM
Her feet were killing her. The throbbing was so damn intense that she was surprised she’d made it through the front door of the house before she
kicked her heels off. Was it a surprise? She’d been on her feet for twelve hours that day! A meeting with the foundation chairs that morning. A long
luncheon with a few promising, potential sponsors. More planning. More working. More slaving over “Kidd’s Kids” like the charity was her own
flesh and blood. But in a way, it was. She’d birthed it, nurtured it and now she was raising it…by herself, just like her actual living and
breathing children as Shemar Kidd’s ass was nowhere to be found. Well, it WAS Valentine’s Day. That , of course, meant he was one of two places.
With a homewrecker or with SOME homewreckers. Fumie wasn’t sure as he usually did as the spirit of whoredom moved him to do. And still, even though
he was absent from the body, he was still controlling every aspect of his estranged wife’s life. From her overly busy day to those painful ass
Louboutins that Shemar “insisted” she wear. Females that belong with me always have a pair of red bottoms on… And even though Fumie was
sure he hadn’t felt genuinely about that comment in a while, the truth still stood. She belonged with him. No…she belonged TO him. Every damn inch
of her. Every molecule. So much so that even when she tried to get away from him and the shit he put her through, she still did things that reminded
her of him. Like the charity. Like this house. Like…her entire life. Everything belonged to Shemar Kidd.
Well…not everything.
Fumie felt herself smile as she pushed her feet out of her heels and padded softly across the foyer, leaving the “torture devices” that Shemar
loved so much right where she had stepped out them. She hadn’t smiled so much in so long but…she kind of had a reason to now. Because HE didn’t
belong to Shemar. “He” didn’t have anything to do with Shemar…and then again, “He” didn’t have anything outside of the charity to do
with Fumie either. And that was when the smiles faded. When she realized that the stupid notion of Zori was…not a notion at all. It was more of a
nothing, to be exact… True they’d grown close in the past months.“Close” meaning small conversation whenever she stopped by the gym to have
him sign papers and sharing a couple of laughs in between, but that was it. There would never be more. Why? Because Fumie played the role of the
devoted wife way too well. Through all the lies and the cheating and the bullshit, she would always be Shemar’s… So, the smiles were nice, but
they were all she had. The closest she would ever get to being with Zori were the quiet moments when she pretended that she’d never made the mistake
of Shemar in the first place. She knew it was stupid but she thought about Zori. Fantasized about him. She knew barely anything about this guy outside
of his gym! But she dreamed of herself with him anyway. Of the life they’d have together. Happier children under his watch. Love. A happier home.
And a hell of a better love life that didn’t involve wondering “when would it end” when he was inside of her. Ugh.
Fumie shook her head slowly as she walked into the kitchen, her hand going to the light switch out of habit. She really didn’t need the overhead,
she only wanted a snack before she…
“What the fuck?” she exclaimed, her eyes narrowing as they settled on the half-naked girl standing in her kitchen.
Devyn - 27-6-2013 at 05:16 PM
Devyn’s free hand covered her mouth, holding in the curse that attempted to escape into the air and completely foul up meeting...his mother.
Mother-fucking-fuckity-fuck-fuck-fuck! Cursing probably wouldn’t have made a shit of difference as she was standing almost naked in her
kitchen, holding a glass from her cabinet about to drink juice that was...fucking...Fuck! She was stuck. She couldn’t make words and for
some reason her feet wouldn’t take the single step it required to put that damn cup on the counter and try to do something with her hands...like
pull the damn shirt down that was barely covering the fact that she wasn’t wearing anything underneath it.
She moved her hand. A small utterance falling from her mouth in the form of a, “Hi...” Hi? Really?! Fucking hi?! Not even a legit fucking
‘Hello’? Oh, God, she had to get her shit together. Willing her feet to move, they did, her cup hitting the counter a little harder than it was
supposed to. Mrs. Kidd would have to forgive her. She was a little thrown. Devyn gave a nervous smile before trying again. She opened her mouth to
make words, but they didn’t come. She closed it again and imagined that she looked a little like a fish out of water! She had to fucking say
something!
“Mrs. Kidd...” Another pause. What?! What could she say that would make this look at least a little better than it did? “I, um...I don’t know
what to say...”
Fumie - 27-6-2013 at 06:29 PM
What. The fuck. Was THIS? Of all the things that Fumie had experienced in marriage to Shemar, she had to admit. This was the first thing that
had rendered her completely speechless. There was a girl. In her GOT damn kitchen and she was naked from the waist down. Fumie didn't
hesitate to know who THIS belonged to because THIS had "Shemar" written all over it!!! Not that she hadn't expected this, especially on today. It was
just another day for Shemar, in terms of his treatment of his "wife", as Valentine's Day didn't mean shit considering that her husband was only in
love with himself. And apparently he was treating himself QUITE nicely. Fumie cocked her head, a sour chuckle escaping her lips as she slammed her
clutch onto the nearest counter and completely entered the kitchen. Her eyes scanned the length of the bold little bitch. How young WAS she?
Definitely no younger than the rest, Fumie was sure of that. And definitely a change from Shemar's usual as this one wasn't the typical "blasian" he
made arm candy. Hell, for all she knew, he was just trying something new...
Hi... Hi? HI? Did this look or feel like a moment for pleasantries? Fumie was sure it didn't as the girl's shaky greeting only made her add a
nose flare to the list of "affronted facial expressions" she was wearing. So, hos were greeting the wives these days? Like some happy family where
every one agreed with the dirty shit the husband did? Nope. Shit didn't go down like that in the past and it sure wasn't about to start. This wasn't
motherfucking "Sister Wives" and no, it wasn't "share time". Then again, why the hell did Fumie even care? This was Shemar's thing. The usual. Fuck
some little cash hungry bitch, let her get out of line and then let Fumie snatch her right back into her place. But goddamn him if he hadn't gone far
enough to let her roam around in HER KITCHEN! What if Koi had been home!? Thank God he was out for the night as his car wasn't in the garage. Jesus,
What if Eri was, as well? Fumie inhaled sharply, her almond shaped eyes throwing the fiercest of darts.
That was right. MRS. Meaning the bitch that actually ran things in the house. And if this girl could call Fumie by her rightful name and
acknowledge her position, then why couldn't she stop talking, scamper her ass back to the guest house where she and Shemar were doing GOD knows what
and get OUT of Fumie's face!? Without a word, Fumie's hand went up, stopping the girl's words before she could say anymore.
"How about...you say 'nothing'?" Fumie's voice was quiet, but her words struck with the power of a sharp whip. "You don't have SHIT to say that would
make this situation any better so I suggest you keep your damn mouth shut."
Devyn - 28-6-2013 at 03:16 AM
In her present situation, Devyn wanted nothing more than to shrink to the size of an ant and be stepped on so that she might start her life over and
have this exact moment erased from her memory. The way his mother was looking at her made her want to pass out and as that creepy ass
chuckle fell from her lips, Devyn was sure more of a shitstorm was eminent. She was so fucking stupid! She knew! She fucking knew that anytime she was
in this house she was bound to be caught doing something she wasn’t supposed to be doing. Getting juice in nothing but a t-shirt was that something
this time. Only this time it wasn’t Ipo that caught her--not that that would have been any better--but his mother. Staring at her. As if she were
the slut she felt like at this particular moment...
And for some reason, with all those thoughts floating around in her head, her body decided the natural reaction to this situation was to tell this
woman, ‘hi’. Not hello, not giver her an introduction, no. She told her hi. As if they were friends and Devyn were simply the girl fucking her
son. Hi...she couldn’t fucking believe this. She couldn’t believe she was about to have to explain herself to the mother of the boy she liked and
somehow convince her that she wasn’t as bad as she seemed. This was not how this was supposed to happen! She would admit, Devyn had thought about
being introduced to Koi’s mom formally one day. Not like a dinner or anything special, but maybe they’d be studying in the living room when she
came in and he’d say something like ‘This is my friend Dev’ or something simple that would open her up to make a good first impression. She’d
never imagined this. She’d never imagined standing in front of her, freshly fucked, in nothing but Koi’s t-shirt, waiting for her to
say...absolutely anything....
And she was open to say just about anything, as Devyn failed to start well...but she didn’t know how! She didn’t know what to say and she admitted
it and before she could even properly finish, her hand went up, stopping the words in Devyn’s throat as if by magic. She spoke. ...say
nothing... Oh, God. Devyn closed her eyes to the sound of her voice, listening to her obvious and extremely well placed anger. She should
apologize! Fuck! Why hadn’t she fucking started with that?! Slowly stepping a little closer to the island in the kitchen (mostly to hide her lower
half from view, as pulling at that shirt was doing little to help her), Devyn cleared her throat and tried to speak again, her voice cracking a little
as she began.
“Mrs. Kidd, look, I’m really sorry about...-,” she paused, trying to find a word for what all of this was before she decided there was no need
to search, she could see what it was. Devyn gestured to herself and continued, “...this. I know you’re really upset and I get it. If
I-,” she stopped. She stopped because the look on his mother’s face as Devyn told her she “got it” was an icy enough glare to freeze blood.
What? Oh, God what had she said?
Fumie - 28-6-2013 at 06:45 PM
Maybe Fumie was losing her mind. And considering that every minute that passed, all she could see was red and all she could hear was the sound of her
heart thudding in her ears, that was a very real possibility...but...didn't she tell this girl to not make another sound? What was there to say?
Really. She'd been caught in the kitchen with nothing but a shirt on. And not just any shirt. Oh no, one of KOI'S shirts. Goddamnit, Shemar.
Fumie couldn't help but silently curse him. The blatant disrespect that he showed his own damn flesh and blood was unspeakable. Yes, he treated Fumie
like shit. Fine. But the way he treated his own children? Ridiculous. And that was evident by his constant absence in their lives, the lack of
interest in anything about them that didn't have to do with him and, most recently...the slut wearing nothing but one of her son's shirts. God, Fumie
was so tired of it all. A husband that couldn't do a shittier job of filling his role if he actually tried. Children that hated her because of the
father they barely knew. And this. Coming home to this more times than she honestly wanted to admit. A naked girl, half her age that didn't give more
than a shit about what she was doing to Fumie's family and to her poor excuse for a marriage. And no apology would change that...
Especially not the one Fumie was hearing now. She was "really sorry"? Wow. That made it ten times better. But only because she was REALLY SORRY. Fumie
had to admit, she'd never gotten an apology before. It was kind of new. So new that she literally felt her face slide into an incredulous smile before
the her glare took over again. What was she sorry for? Something that she'd already thought over? Something that still had her in the kitchen,
continuing her explanation of what she was such a fucking whore? Wow...where the hell did Shemar get this one from?
"You don't get shit, honey." Fumie said before the still talking girl could even finish her half-assed, unnecessary apology. "You don't! And all the
other little girls before you didn't either."
"YOU..." Fumie spat, the word sounding like some foul thing that she couldn't WAIT to release from her lips. "...are a slutty, vile thing...in the
middle of my kitchen." Fumie stepped closer as the girl moved behind the island, probably still trying to keep the shirt from rising up over her huge
ass as it was BARELY hiding her!
"And the only thing I want you to do before you get your shit and get the FUCK out of my house...is tell me." Crossing her arms over her chest, she
squared her shoulders, bracing herself for the question she didn't want to ask.
"Where is he? Still in the pool house where he takes all his dirty bitches? Or maybe upstairs? I mean...you're assed out in my kitchen so...fucking
you on our bed isn't too much of a damn over exaggeration, now is it?"
Devyn - 29-6-2013 at 09:50 AM
She was so angry! Devyn could get being upset about what was happening here, but really? All this? The looks that said if she was close enough to a
knife, Dev would be bleeding? Her words, that did just fine cutting on their own? Devyn winced as she was told she didn’t get shit. She didn’t get
shit and none of the...pause. “What?” Devyn felt her face slip from that look of pained embarrassment to one of obvious confusion. She was in no
position to ask any questions, and she honestly hadn’t meant to, but what the hell did she mean by that shit?! Other girls? Like recently? Surely
she didn’t mean recently...She might have asked but Mrs. Kidd had moved on.
Name calling? This was getting out of hand and Devyn’s mindset was quickly shifting from making a good first impression to keeping her respect. The
fact that she was fucking her son didn’t make Devyn a slut and it certainly didn’t make her vile. She felt her expression go through yet
another change as her head fell to the side and her lips pursed. She was growing impatient and that wasn’t good for what she was trying to do here.
She simply wanted to get out of this kitchen, get her shit, and get out of this house. His mother wanted the same thing it seemed, but first...
Where is he... As his mom spoke and spewed more hate than anyone would ever deem necessary to deal with a half naked teeanger in their
kitchen, Devyn felt the last of her resolve slip through her fingers like water. “Listen,” the word fell from her mouth just as Mrs. Kidd finished
up her little rant, some shit Devyn should have never let her get to. “Despite what you think, I do get why you’re angry. I’ve overstepped a few
boundaries and for that I apologize, but that’s about the last “bitch” I’m going to take.” Devyn was playing with fire. She knew it and
pausing here would only give his mom another chance to speak so she didn’t pause.
“Now, Eri isn’t home and I was told no one else was supposed to be here until at least midnight. I only came down here for a sip of
juice, not to be crucified and humiliated for something I didn’t even plan on doing when I got here-,” she lied. She knew she was going to have
sex with Koi as soon as he asked her over, but his mom didn’t need to hear that. “No disrespect, but maybe you should be talking to the kid about
this and not me.”
She braced herself...
Fumie - 29-6-2013 at 03:29 PM
Again. Again with the damn excuses and explanations that Fumie didn't need or WANT. What was the problem? Did the girl need forgiveness? That HAD to
be why she kept apologizing and explaining herself for no reason. Because Fumie didn't need it. She didn't need to keep hearing the pointless reasons
why this still nameless, moral less girl was in her house in the first place. She knew why. She always knew why as Ray Charles could've see the answer
to that "enigma". Shemar loved the fucking drama. He loved keeping Fumie on her toes with these...games, these constant, blood pressure rising, heart
palpating run-ins with his whores! This wasn't the first time Fumie had had a face to face with a girl who thought she held enough of a special place
in Shemar's life to challenge his wife and the mother of his children for her position. It always ended badly. Oh, for the girl...never for Fumie.
Because despite Shemar's wandering eye and his shitty behavior, putting a ring on any woman's finger had been a one time thing for Shemar Kidd. Hell,
if he could've warned his past self before he'd married Fumie, she was sure he would've "Back to the Future"'d himself a favor and opted out. But
mistakes were made now...on both of their parts. And the fact remained. Fumie Hamada-Kidd would be the one and only Mrs. Kidd. Not that that fact was
anything to smile about. She knew her position...and that was that.
But this stupid, delusional little thing didn't. And that was apparent as she kept talking and...oh, what was this? Little bitch was growing a pair,
huh? Good for her...because throwing her ass out of the house would be so much more satisfying than just asking her to leave. With this in mind,
Fumie's eyebrows raised, a small, dangerous chuckle leaving her lips as she leaned against the counter for more story time. This little heifer better
have hoped that Ipo put away the sharp things before she'd left for the evening...
Eri... Wait. Did she...had she just said her daughter's name?! How the hell did she know Eri's name? And for what seemed like the millionth
time during the conversation, Fumie silently cursed Shemar's name. That dumb bastard had had this girl near her child... Of all the things
that Shemar knew never to cross the line with, that was one. The children would never be in the middle of it. Sure, they knew that things
weren't perfect between she and Shemar...but she'd made a promise a long time ago. The would never be in the middle of it. No messy divorce. No fights
in front of them, even though she was SURE they'd been in earshot. And no, under ANY circumstances, meeting the mistresses. And he'd betrayed her.
Once again. Why she kept trusting him to do the fucking right thing when it came to his children, she would never know.
The rest of the girl's word's were like static in Fumie's ears as she stared, seeing her mouth move and hearing nothing but the beating of her own
angry heart. Her hands shook as she stood upright and clinched them to her sides, willing herself not to reach out and snatch the SHIT out of the
girl.
"How do you...you know Eri?" Fumie whispered as a silence settled between them. She shook her head, her chest heaving as she stepped forward, making
her way to the place where Shemar's lover stood. She didn't know how she was moving and she didn't know what should was doing...but she knew one
thing. She didn't need to get her hands on the girl. God help her, she didn't.
"I asked one thing of him...ONE MOTHER FUCKING THING." Her voice rose as she walked closer, her fingernails digging into her palms. "And that was to
NEVER, EVER let his whores near OUR CHILDREN and...GODDAMN HIM!" She was not going to do it. She was not going to cry in front of Shemar's bitch. She
was NOT. Her shoulders shook as she froze in place, the kitchen shimmering from the tears threatening to spill over in her eyes, the girl standing
before her becoming a blurry haze. Without a word, her arm raised, her finger pointing to the front door.
"YOU NEED TO LEAVE...NOW! I DON'T CARE WHERE YOU GO OR WHAT YOU DO BUT YOU GONE GET YO' ASS UP OUT OF HERE! MOVE!"
Devyn - 29-6-2013 at 05:09 PM
How did she know Eri? Wasn’t it obvious how she knew Eri? She lived in this house and for most of the last month, Devyn pretty much had too. They
were friends, basically. Sure she was Koi’s little sister, but she was a good kid. Sweet. Smart. She liked Devyn and Dev liked her and it
was...normal...or so Devyn thought. Was it not okay for her to be cool with Eri if she was sleeping with her brother? Truth be told, Eri had a hand in
kicking things off between she and Koi. She obviously approved (probably not of the sex, which Devyn hoped to God she knew nothing about), so what was
her mother’s problem? Mrs. Kidd had to know that Devyn wasn’t Koi’s first and, hell, if she was being honest with herself, she probably
wouldn’t be his last...
She was about to answer her, tell her now she knew Eri. About the time they’d spent together when she wasn’t here “slutting it up” for her
son. Instead was forced to listen to her start yet another over the top rant. What the fuck was her fucking problem!? It was sex. Between two
consenting adults! No one was pregnant and nobody was getting hurt....quite the opposite actually. She had to know that one day her son would start
putting his penis in people! She was shouting now, her voice rising and falling when she got really swept up in her anger. This was fucking out of
control, it was over the top, it was...something else. OH GOD, it was something completely opposite what Devyn had been talking about the entire time
they’d been standing here! Everything clicked the instant she said “our children”. Eri was Koi’s sister, not his kid...They weren’t talking
about Koi...
Now she really did get it. Mrs. Kidd wasn’t upset because Devyn was sleeping with Koi. She thought she was sleeping with Shemar. Fucking
Shemar...He wasn’t even here and he’d still managed to make her feel as dirty as she had the Christmas she met him. FUCK! Fuck him and what
he’d done to this poor, poor woman who wasn’t doing anything but trying to keep her family from falling apart while he fucked it over again and
again. She got that, too...She knew exactly what that looked like because she’d seen it more times than she cared to think about...And then came the
guilt, flooding her entire body and threatening to manifest into tears, because more than any of the thoughts that were currently hitting her all at
once, the loudest was asking if this was what it had been like for her mom. If she’d been this...no. She couldn’t deal with that now, she
couldn’t handle thinking about her mom’s pain and trying to ease Mrs. Kidd’s.
“No. Nonononono. Oh my God, we haven’t been...I didn’t...” She had to spit it the fuck out! “Mrs. Kidd I’m not sleeping with your
husband!”
Koi - 29-6-2013 at 07:07 PM
GODDAMN HIM!. Koi felt his body jolt awake, his heart pounding against his chest like he'd been running a fucking marathon. The room was
nearly pitch black, which was pretty expected as he'd fallen asleep around late afternoon. The flat screen on his wall was the only light in the room,
displaying the screensaver on the Blu-Ray player as the movie that he'd been watching with Devyn had gone off long before he went to sleep.
Well...more like the movie that he wasn't watching with Devyn as they'd gotten as far as the opening credits before their movie night
turned into something else. He smirked as he sat up, his bare skin rubbing against the sheets as he ran his hand over his face and then into his
curls, shaking off the feeling of being shaken from his sleep by...damn, he didn't know. A bad dream, he guessed. A bad dream didn't ruin that day.
That was for sure. He didn't know how other people did Valentine's Day. Candy, flowers, and balloons, he guessed. None of that sounded better than how
he'd spent it. Practice after school, a little bud, a little Devyn and the best fuck-coma he'd had in awhile. Goddamn...
He rolled over from his back to his side, stretching his limbs as he felt the space next to him, his fingers searching for something that he wasn't
quite finding. His eyebrows furrowed for a moment as he sat up further in his king-sized bed, reaching further but still touching sheets instead of
the satin of Devyn's skin. Fuck was she? He didn't call out for her though as he looked around the room, his eyes adjusting to the lack of light. He
searched the floor. Her clothes were still there. Her keys were still on his sidetable. The space where she'd been laying was still warm. So, where
the hell was she? Not that he was on his toes to find her. The house was going to be empty the entire night...which was kind of why he'd called her
over in the first place. No interruptions. And they could be as loud as they wanted to be. Devyn had taken FULL advantage of that perk. No, he
just...wanted her. The night wasn't over and if it wasn't too late, they could've gotten in...
Koi's thoughts stopped as he heard...something downstairs. Voices? Okay so babe was downstairs...but who the fuck was she talking to? Ipo'd left hours
ago, before he'd even called Devyn to come over. His fucking father was off somewhere being a dirty bastard, as usual. And Eri was over her
classmate's house at some birthday party or some shit. She hadn't wanted to go but his mom thought it would've been a way to get Eri to be more social
and...
His mom. No. Nope that was impossible. She was off the island all day dealing with Kidd's Kids and she wouldn't be back until much later in
the night. Like MUCH later...right? Or not. Koi heard the voice MUCH more clearly as the pitch rose and there was no way he could mistake it. It was
his mother and...she was fussing. There was NO WAY Koi couldn't tell her fuss. But who was she fussing...
No. NO NO NO! Koi didn't know how he did it but he was out of bed and putting on the first pair of sweats he found in that dark ass room. He
was busting through his bedroom door and nearly tripping down the stairs before he'd fully pulled his pants over his ass, nearly tripping over the
pant legs as he hit the last step.
"MOM!" He shouted over her loud exclamation of "MOVE!". What the FUCK was going on?! Without thinking twice, he slid between his mother and Devyn at
what looked like just the right moment as his mother looked like she was two seconds from taking Devyn by the neck...and then, it didn't take any time
at all to figure out what had just gone down between the two of them. Devyn in only a shirt, standing in the middle of his mother's kitchen. His
mother with mingled tears and death in her eyes...goddamit.
"Moms, hold up. Hold up!" He said, pleading with her as he pushing against her, his arm wrapping around her waist as he tried to stop her from
charging Devyn. "Mom! MOM! HOLD UP! SHE'S WITH ME!"
Devyn - 30-6-2013 at 02:38 PM
Devyn couldn’t believe this shit was happening! She couldn’t believe that she had walked into yet another devastatingly awkward situation in
Koi’s house. She couldn’t believe she had again embarrassed herself in front of one of his parents, and she couldn’t fucking believe
that she was again made to feel like what she imagined one of her father’s side pieces might feel like if they had morals...But as bad as she felt
for herself, she felt even worse for Koi’s mom. Here she stood in front of some girl she thought was screwing her husband, listening to her tell her
a bunch of shit about the people in this house, as if she belonged...specifically, her children. Devyn fucked up when she mentioned Eri and she
hadn’t realized it then, because she didn’t know what his mom was thinking, but now that she did...she understood the escalation from annoyance to
rage.
Dev tried to explain herself again now that she knew what the fuck was going on, but that was doing nothing to help. Not that she thought it would.
Why would she believe anything that came out of her mouth? To her, as wrong as she was, Devyn was emeny. She was the vile thing fucking up
her marriage. Devyn telling her that that was not what was happening was nothing if it wasn’t backed up. She got that. But the only way she would be
able to back it up was asleep upstairs. She was completely on her own and as his mom drew closer, it was beginning to look like she was about to get
tossed out, ass out. Or...not.
Devyn heard him before she saw him, but it didn’t take long for Koi to appear, stepping between herself and his mother just as she reached for
Devyn. Talking would only hurt and she was more than ready to let Koi handle this one. She had put a comfortable amount of space between herself and
the Kidds as it was. On the low, she was hoping Koi would tell her to wait upstairs where she could go, get her shit, and get the hell out of this
house.
Koi - 1-7-2013 at 06:37 AM
Hold up! She's with me! The second the words came out of his mouth, Koi felt his mother's body tense against him. She stopped thrashing, she
stopped yelling...he could've sworn she stopped breathing. In that second, he knew that she'd understood...and that the reality of everything that had
gone down, even before Koi had gotten to her, had set in. He knew what was coming next. Loosening his grip on her waist, he turned her around, her
back facing the girl she'd falsely accused. He could let her go now and know that she wouldn't make anymore attempts to get at Devyn. Because Devyn
wasn't the enemy. She was far from it.
But motherfuckin' Shemar Kidd. This was his fault. If Koi knew anything to be true, that was it. This shit was all him. Koi had never known a normal
family being the son of an NBA legend. He'd always been the kid of the Greatest Kidd. Greatest Of All Time. He knew families didn't operate
like his, but he knew what normal looked like when it came to parents loving each other. He saw Dhonny's parentals and how they couldn't get enough of
each other. He checked Ipo and the man she'd been married to for as long she'd been working for their family. They were devoted to each other. There
was love there. Normal families didn't look like this. They didn't hit on their son's best friend the second she walked through the door. And
when they caught wind of the girl their son was fucking, they sure the hell didn't think she was one of their husband's many mistresses. Shit WAS NOT
normal. And Shemar was the one to blame...
"It's okay..." He whispered to Fumie, rubbing her arm before he walked to the place where Devyn was taking refuge from his mother. He grabbed her
arms, pulling her towards him as he wrapped her in a hug.
"I'm...I-just...go upstairs. Wait on me..." His lips pecked hers lightly as he let her go, watching her walk away...getting himself ready for the
uncomfortable ass conversation he knew he was about to have with this mother.
Fumie - 4-7-2013 at 01:33 AM
She’s with me…The realization of that fact hit her with the force of a hundred trains. The young girl she’d just called many too many
foul things, some of them in the Japanese rant Koi had just ended, was not one of Shemar’s playthings. She was not here for the pleasure of her
husband. She was here…for Koi…Christ! She had been so blind and stupid! She was wearing his shirt; a fact she had noticed, but she
just…she didn’t think…UGH! She wasn’t completely clueless. She knew Koi had…friends. Much like his father, there was a revolving door of
little girls in and out of Koi’s room that he might have thought she didn’t catch wind of, but she did. She knew her son was far from celibate,
but she just never thought…Fuck!
She hated what Shemar was doing to her. HATED. IT. He was turning her into this person, this eternally frustrated, immovably angry person that lashed
out at any and everyone she saw as a threat, even before knowing the true story behind things. And what made everything sting so much more was hearing
her son whisper that this was okay. He may have been upstairs for a majority of it, but what she’d said…what she’d almost done…this was far
from okay. It wasn’t right. It wasn’t fucking normal. This was not how a mother was supposed to behave upon meeting one of her son’s
half naked friends in her kitchen. Sure, the half naked part was an issue that she would have addressed, but never as strongly as she had. She
wasn’t this person…Shemar was turning her into a different breed of the same thing he was. A monster.
Meanwhile, Koi was excusing her behavior. Something he shouldn’t have had to do. Ever. Especially not in front of his friends, although listening to
him stumble over what he wanted to be an apology before asking her to wait upstairs told her something that the unmistakable sound of a kiss only
confirmed. “Friend” probably wasn’t what this particular girl was...She’d fucked up royally.
“Baby…-,” she paused, a sigh on her lips as she took a seat at the island. “I’m…I’m so sorry, Koi. I just…I came in and she was there
and…your father is…But that’s no excuse love.” She stopped again, slowly turning to look at him, her hands reaching for his. “I’m sorry,
baby…”
Koi - 7-7-2013 at 06:01 PM
Koi really didn't want to have the discussion that was on the list of "shit to do". He...just didn't. But after the things that had just gone down? It
was inevitable. He and his mother were about to have a sit down entitled "why I thought the girl you're sleeping with was one of your daddy's whores".
No thanks. Koi was ready to completely miss that. This was just one of the things that made him hate his jacked up home life. No one in his circle had
to deal with the type of fucked up situations that he faced every time his parents were involved...until now. He felt guilty as hell about Devyn. She
shouldn't have seen any of that and especially not first hand. Sending her up to his room while he handled things downstairs was the last thing he
wanted to tell her to do, but he did. And hopefully she wouldn't sneak out the front door in sheer embarrassment because had it been Koi? His ass
would've booked as soon as he got the dismiss.
Baby... His mother's soft voice made his head turn, the apology that he didn't want to hear already there. He hated the sound of her even
starting to apologize when nothing was her fault. This was the way she was when it came to his no-good ass father. Any fight, any bad behavior on the
fucker's part and it automatically became Fumie's responsibility to explain it and say that she was "sorry" for it. And even though this time, Koi's
father wasn't directly involved, his hands weren't exactly clean in the matter, either. If he hadn't been such a cheating bastard, Devyn may have
never been mistaken for a "side piece" and the conversation that he and his mother were about to have would've been a completely different one. He'd
be apologizing...not her.
"Mommy." Koi said as she sighed, the childlike name his mother slipping from his mouth as he turned completely to her, his face wearing the
exasperation he felt. He was tired. Tired of him mother's apologies for living a life that no one in that house was content with. No one except
Shemar. He was the only one winning in the situation while the rest of them waded through the embarrassment of having him for a father...and a
husband.
"Mommy, don't apologize." He called her again, shaking his head at her words."Not for this. Sh-Devyn's gonna be alright." He said the words, but then
again, he wasn't so sure. Would it be alright? Would what happened between she and his mother ever fix itself when on their first meeting, shit had
gone so fucking wrong? Koi couldn't answer that. He didn't know how Devyn was feeling about everything, but he could tell by her face that she was
embarrassed as hell. And he knew his mother. She carried a lot of blame.
"Stop..." He said, letting her hold his hand in hers. "I mean it. Stop apologizing. I'm not pissed...I swear." Sighing loudly he shook his head.
"...not with you..."
Fumie - 7-7-2013 at 10:48 PM
She fucked up. She fucked up so bad and it was fucking eating away at her so quickly it scared her. Her heart was beating so fast it felt like it was
going to jump out of her chest and the tears in her eyes that had started for one child had become for another. She had jumped to a conclusion and
been wrong and sadly the consequences weren’t hers to bear for doing that. Once again she’d allowed Shemar to put Koi in the middle of their shit!
Only this time was worse because she had also told a completely--well not completely, as she was still half naked in her kitchen--innocent girl all of
the dysfunction going on within their family. A girl that Fumie felt she could safely bet was Koi’s first real girlfriend...Fuck! She’d
fucked up...
Mommy...Fumie felt herself begin to crumble with the utterance of that simple word. Koi didn’t call her ‘mommy’ often. He did it to
make her feel better after a fight with his father. He did it when he was sick and he needed her. He did it when he wanted something...Tonight he
wasn’t sick and he wasn’t asking for a damn thing and Shemar wasn’t here. Tonight it was what he called her out of pity. Mommy. She
felt the first tear fall down her face and she tried her damndest to hold in a whimper. Her son knew what a sorry excuse she was and he pitied her. It
was a feeling no mother should ever have to experience and here she was, having walked herself into just that. She couldn’t make it worse. She
would not cry about this in front of him. As much as it killed her, as real as the treat of her emotions spilling over grew with each
passing moment, she would NOT give him anymore reason to pity his own mother.
So she would talk through it her mouth uttering a more than necessary apology while her heart hoped he’d accept it. She’d completely embarrassed
him, she knew it. And Fumie’d probably made an even worse first impression on his girlfriend than she had made on her. She was so sorry. She loved
Koi so much and she would never ever hurt him like this on purpose! He had to know. He had to know how bad she felt about the the things she’d said
to that girl. Things she never should have heard, let alone had directed at her. He stopped her, telling her not to apologize. That the girl, Devyn,
would be okay. Would she? Koi had no way of knowing that. She’d said nothing before disappearing upstairs at his request and if Fumie were her,
she’d be putting on her clothes and making her way to the front door. Devyn would probably never speak to Koi again and she’d have to live with
that being her fault forever.
“Well you should be pissed at me Koi. That girl, Devyn...you like her,” she paused, watching his face change at the mention of him seriously
liking anyone. She knew her son and she knew he wasn’t one for relationships. She understood it what with the example she and his father set for
him. “You like her and I might have just messed everything up for you, baby. Please forgive me. I can talk to her if I need to! I’ll fix it
Koi...I can fix this for you, sweets.”
Koi - 9-7-2013 at 05:00 PM
Koi meant it when he said it. He was done with hearing his mother's apologies. They unsettled him...made his fucking innards squeamish. Made his blood
boil under his skin, flushing it mad, hot red. Made him...remember every reason why she shouldn't have been apologizing in the first place. He didn't
care what she thought. And he didn't care what she always said when something like this went down. When she missed a basketball game because she and
his Pops had gotten into it again. When she couldn't come home and he had to take care of Eri because his Pops wasn't handling the business that came
with the foundation that had his name on it. Just a lot of excuses for something that she shouldn't have to speak up for...because the real
nigga who should have had his mouth open, explaining the bullshit he caused in their family never did his damn job. His Pops was ridiculous. And what
was more ridiculous was this notion of protecting his damn legacy when the entire thing was falling apart at his feet. Because of shit like this. The
was no fucking legacy.
Shaking his head, he saw the tear slide down his mother's face, tracing the lines of the cheekbones she'd passed down to her only son. That was one of
the things about that saw mirrored back in himself. Everything else was like Shemar. His face and his stature. The voice. The mannerisms...the
behavior. His father could talk a nun out of her holy garments in under a minute and that was a fact. Koi was just like him...and he hated it. He
hated what being the legacy of Shemar fucking Kidd, cleaning up the mess he made even when he wasn't around...drying tears that he didn't even cause.
This wasn't his place. Taking care of his mother because she did the one thing that no one else could do for Koi's father. She loved him. Everything
about him. She loved him so much that she was this empty ass shell that stood before her own son now, embarrassed and apologetic. And all Koi could
see in her face...all he could muster...was gratitude. Because he knew enough and he'd seen enough to never, ever do something like this to anyone
else's mother. Anyone else's daughter... Love was a fucking trap and he'd never fall in it. He didn't do love.
...you like her. That was a dropped bomb in the conversation, for sure. Koi couldn't change the expression on his face quick enough before
his mother saw it as it said everything he didn't want to say at the moment. He did. He liked Devyn. She was...his babe. His homie. She
smoked with him. She held him down when he needed it...she was a good friend. And nothing that his mother did would change that, he knew it. He and
Devyn had been through the worst...and she was still here. And so was he. Nothing fucked up a bond like that.
"I've got Devyn, don't worry." He said, sighing again at his mother's persistence. He didn't want her to fix anything for him. All she did was FIX.
Fix things at his school when he messed up on a daily basis. Fix thing with the police when he got caught running the streets. Fix shit between he and
his Pops when his mouth got too reckless. Fix, fix, fix.
"And stop asking me to forgive you..." His face twisted into a frown as he dropped her hand. "...you already know who's fault this is. Stop
apologizing for him when he should be here to do the shit himself."
Fumie - 10-7-2013 at 07:07 AM
Koi could try until her was blue in the face to convince her, but she would never yield to this being anyone’s fault but hers. She should have asked
more questions. A simple ‘Who the fuck are you?’ would have saved her all the shame she was feeling now. But she hadn’t. She hadn’t bothered
to ask the girl anything because she was so sure she was one of Shemar’s fuck toys! And she knew. She fucking knew that this girl wasn’t his
usual. She was thicker, younger, and didn’t have that Asian twist that he had a fucking fetish for. Fuck! All signs pointed to her son right down to
her wearing his t-shirt, but she was so blinded by rage that she just...snapped. She snapped on the poor girl and wouldn’t even stop long enough to
let her explain.
But things would be fine between Koi and his girlfriend. Or at least that’s how he made it seem. I’ve got Devyn, don’t worry. Bus she
did worry. She constantly worried about Koi. Koi and how he was feeling. Koi and his schoolwork. Koi and his behavior... He was just so much like his
father...He always had been. Before Shemar started deserting his family for whatever piece of ass caught his attention that week, he had been Koi’s
everything. His idol, his hero, and his best friend. Sometimes when she watch Koi at games she still saw him as this adorable three year old
in his daddy’s jersey telling everybody ‘lookit me!’ while he dunked into his little Fisher Price hoop. They’d been good once...this
family had been perfect for almost seven years at the start of things and she longed for those days more than anything. The days when Shemar came home
smelling like practice instead of sex and he wasn’t constantly yelling at her about the smallest of things. A time when Shemar couldn’t be blamed
for incidents like these...
“Koi, don’t.” As hard as she tried to keep the truth from him, she knew Koi knew the truth. He wasn’t stupid and now that he was old enough,
he understood what his father was. He understood the relationship between herself and Shemar and he knew things weren’t good. Hell, they
were...well, hell. It was her turn to sigh as he pulled his hand from hers and took a step back. She didn’t like doing this. She didn’t like
defending Shemar to anyone because...because he didn’t deserve it! In some ways, this shit was his fault! He was a horrible husband, an
embarrassment of a father, and if he wasn’t, what she’d done to Devyn, never would have happened. But Koi was his only son...and Shemar was
Koi’s father.
“Don’t make this about your dad, Koi. The mistake was mine. I’m apologizing for myself, not for him,” she stood up then, another sigh on her
lips as she tried to come up with something that wasn’t completely hypocritical and contradictory to say about his father. Fumie reached out for him
again, this time allowing her hand to cup his face as she spoke, “Listen, I know, okay? I get it. But he’s your father...”
Koi - 11-7-2013 at 06:33 PM
Don't make this about your dad... Koi's eyes narrowed, his lip curling against his clenched teeth as those words left his mother's mouth. The
same mouth that was just cursing out his best friend on some stupid, crazed assumption that she was fucking his father. An assumption that was based
on the fact that it was highly probable that his mother could've come home to the same scenario and the shit would've been REAL. HOW was this NOT
Shemar Kidd's fault!? It was always Shemar Kidd's fault! People, namely Koi's mother, just had a way of taking the blame and making it otherwise! Koi
knew the truth, though and no one could tell him otherwise. Despite how absentee his father was, his Pops had done his damage and it was long
standing. It'd been around long enough to eat its way into the core of his family and kill them from the inside out. Koi's mother was a fucking mess,
working so much that she barely knew her own children and so damn anal about MORE embarrassment from her slack-off husband that shit like what'd
happened that night played out more than Koi wanted to admit. Eri barely came out of her room when he was home and when he was there, she didn't
acknowledge his presence. And why should she? "Daddy" wasn't even close to her first words. His own son? Well, it was obvious how Koi dealt with his
"daddy issues". But it wasn't Shemar's fault...right?
"Don't make this NOT about him, Mom." Koi snapped back, his angry glare meeting her eyes as her hand touched his face. He closed his eyes against the
contact, his mother's contact doing the opposite of calming him like it was meant to do. He didn't...want to be calmed. He didn't want to be babied
into forgiving someone who'd never asked for forgiveness, nor deserved it. Koi wanted the anger. He wanted to call Shemar that second and give hell.
But he was smart. His Pops wouldn't even pick up when he saw the home number on his caller ID. He'd keep fucking whatever pussy he was in for the
night and ignore the one thing that should've meant more to him than any affair, than any groupie, than any party.
"That's supposed to mean something? He's my 'father'?" Laughing, he pulled his face from her touch, his eyes rolling at her words. "Father" was a
title. A title was something that you had to earn, not something someone gave to you. Like being a "good son". And both he and his fucking "Daddy"
stopped earning their titles a long time ago.
"When he starts acting like my father again...I'll let you know. Until then? You can kill all that 'Daddy' talk."
Fumie - 11-7-2013 at 07:12 PM
Fumie tried so hard. She tried so fucking hard to hold everything together and her husband only followed behind her fucking it all over. Fucking his
family over. It pissed her off and it hurt her, but it wasn’t her pain that was killing her. It was this. Her kids having to deal with his shit just
like she did. Koi was so angry with Shemar and no matter what she said or how hard she tried, there seemed to be no changing that. She honestly
couldn’t take blame for that one though. Shemar had dug his own grave with his children, despite Fumie trying her damnedest to be nothing but
positive about him in front of them. Even now, in a situation he could easily be blamed for, she was defending him. Trying to save face for a man that
was fully capable of allowing a bitch to roam her kitchen, freshly fucked, while she drank her got damn apple juice. Fumie had gone off because that
was a completely plausible scenario. She knew it and sadly, Koi knew it too.
So here they were; arguing about this being Shemar’s fault when they both knew it to be true. She wasn’t sure why she did this sometimes. Maybe it
had something to do with having not spoken to her father the way she’d like to since marrying Shemar. Maybe she was quietly hoping that things
would, at the very least, change between her husband and her son if she couldn’t have that change for herself. Maybe she was just too loyal to a man
that deserved nothing from her...Fumie didn’t know but she did it. She fought for the father-son relationship that neither Koi nor Shemar seemed to
want. Because apparently Shemar being his father meant nothing to him. She understood that too. Hell, no one mattered to Shemar, but Shemar and he
made that well known. Still, she cringed as Koi directed her to ‘kill all that Daddy talk’. He was right...but she really didn’t want him to be.
“Baby, please. I-I can’t do this tonight...-,” she was fucking drained. She’d had a long day to begin with, then she’d started drama with
Koi’s girlfriend, now she was being forced to make up good shit about Shemar? Fuck she needed sleep. She gave a weak smile, a peace offering, a
message telling him she didn’t want to fight with him. “Come here-,” she stepped closer to him, her arms enveloping him in a hug before he could
protest. “Tell your girlfriend I’m sorry,” she said quietly. Her lips pecked his forehead before she let him go and started past him. She’d
made it to the archway out of the kitchen before she stopped, looking back at him.
“I love you, Koi.” That was true. Had been since birth and even before. He was her baby no matter how old he got or what kind of shit he got into.
She was trying to make sure he knew that, but a lot of the time...a lot of the time she just felt like she failed him over and over and over again.
Koi - 11-7-2013 at 07:44 PM
Koi was ready for it. He was ready for the "heated discussion" that was brewing in the air around he and his mother as they stood in the kitchen. His
back was tensed, his nostrils flared, his eyes burning with anger he felt for...everything. Everything pissed him off at that moment. The conversation
he was having with his mom. The disappointment his father was continuing to be. The drama that consumed anyone that crossed the threshold of his front
door. He was sick...and fucking tired of it all. He wanted to scream out. Blast his mother out for everything that had happened even though his anger
wasn't just with her. But she was the only thing here. The only one TO yell at. The only one TO scream at. The only one to blame...as usual. And as
usual, Shemar missed it all...leaving his wife and the mother of his fucking offspring to catch all the bullshit that should've been aimed directly at
him. Koi loathed him. If there were more ways to say "hate", he would've said them. If there were more ways to show his mother how...crazy
she was...how stupid she was to take up for a man that had probably never loved her ass in the first place, Koi would've done them. He wanted
to...he needed to do something...anything to stop feeling like he was now. And anything meant fussing the shit out of his mother until he couldn't
make words anymore...
But she couldn't do this tonight... She couldn't do telling her son how correct he was because she KNEW her husband was shit? She couldn't
tell her son that she was divorcing the bastard and taking her fucking life back? She couldn't...No, she WOULDN'T. Because she was tired. Right. Well
Koi was tired as fuck too. Tired of being wrapped up in this bullshit facade of a family and...Naw, fuck that. If she was done. Fine. He'd be
done too. Fuck, he was nearly halfway there. He barely felt it when she pulled him to her, her arms wrapping him in a hug that felt...wrong. She
wasn't comforting him. She was...avoiding him. Like fucking usual. Like she did when she was so numb that she couldn't even... He wouldn't look her in
the eye as she let him go, moving past him to leave the kitchen.
I love you, Koi
"Yeah. I'm sure you do..." He mumbled sarcastically, his back still to her as he flinched at her words. He could feel it...filling him. That
fucking...dread that he always felt when he knew no one heard him. When he knew nothing would change. It started in his stomach, and rose to his
lungs...and then his throat...suffocating him. He couldn't swallow. He couldn't speak. He needed... His jaw clenched at the unfinished statement in
his mind, his arms subconsciously wrapping around himself they way they always did when he felt it happening. When he felt himself breaking...
Devyn - 29-6-2014 at 06:57 PM
She felt like complete shit. She hadn’t known. She never knew because Koi never told her. Dhonny did.
His parents found out about their pregnancy scare. Apparently it happened a while ago, but Koi had never said a word to her. Why wouldn’t he tell
her something like that. Even Dhonny thought he had, letting the information slip in a conversation they were having...She couldn’t believe he
hadn’t told her! Why would he keep that from her? Here she was thinking they were cool and she didn’t have shit to worry about with them. Little
did she know he was holding on to this big ass burden by himself. Why didn’t he call her when it happened? She would have been there. She would have
come over and taken that lecture with him...Oh God, his dad.
Devyn knew he had been a complete ass in the matter and she hadn’t been here to keep the kid steady. He didn’t even call her after! She was mad at
him for not telling her. She was mad at herself for not being there. She didn’t talk to him for eight days after the scare and in that time his
parents had piled on him even more about it and it was...stressful. She knew that shit was a strain on him and it wasn’t something he should have
gone through without her...They needed to talk.
That was her first thought and after cutting dinner with Dhonny a little short she drove over. She’d shot him a text to let him know she was coming
back (seeing as she’d only left a few hour ago so he could do his brotrip with Derrick), but he still hadn’t replied. It didn’t matter, this was
important and she needed to see him.
She knocked on his front door and waited...She really couldn’t believe he hadn’t said anything...
Koi - 30-6-2014 at 04:55 AM
He'd gotten her text. Right between paying for Derrick's shoes and getting in the car to drop him back off home. But there was absolutely no way Koi
was about to answer anything from Devyn in front of Derrick. And get that discussion started again? No fucking thank you. It'd nearly
elevated into something that Koi was sure they wouldn't have come back from easily. So he let the unanswered text message wait, deciding to deal with
it when he got home, Devyn letting him know she'd meet him there. The silence of the short trip home after dropping Derrick off was heavy, Koi letting
the things that Derrick had said sink in. Things about Devyn and the way he knew Koi really felt about her. Was it that obvious that they were
getting...closer? Koi didn't mind it. He liked the idea of having someone else, outside of Dhonny, know shit about him that other people didn't know.
Like how jacked his family really was. Lying to the damn media was enough. Lying to everyone in his real life? That was something else. But that was
friendship, wasn't it? Not whatever Derrick was trying to turn it into. Koi didn't even want to think about it...but, he had to admit, thoughts were
slipping in faster than he could stop them. Was he letting her in too much? Were they getting TOO close too fast? Was he as fucking whipped as
Derrick said he was?
Pulling up in the driveway circular driveway, he saw Devyn standing at the front door, waiting on him. That...was never a good sign. He took his time
parking and getting out of the car, his eyes on Devyn as he walked to the door.
"Hey, what's up..." He asked, his eyes searching her face, unlocking the door. She looked...worried. A little annoyed. Definitely...annoyed, actually.
And Koi could bet that he was probably the reason why.
Devyn - 30-6-2014 at 06:19 AM
Devyn turned as she heard a car in the driveway, his car. Awesome, because she didn’t know what she would do if she had to have this conversation in
front of his parents...although that was kind of what she wanted right? To tell their side of things and apologize for her hand in all this...She
honestly never meant for that shit to happen! A baby was the furthest thing from what either of them needed in their lives right now and they...they
had just been stupid. They’d been stupid and careless and...Jesus, why hadn’t he called her? She had the opportunity to ask now as he approached
her, his eyes meeting hers briefly before he unlocked the door.
“I had dinner with Dhonny-,” not really a response to his question, but the start of her explanation for being here. She followed him into the
house, continuing through the foyer and into the kitchen. Koi went to the fridge as Devyn set her bag on the island. “He told me your parents found
out about the scare…” She let her words trial off. Fuck, she didn’t want to talk about it! She hadn’t wanted to talk about it when it actually
happened and she thought neither of them had talked about it with anyone else in their time out…She was obviously wrong.
“Why wouldn’t you tell me that, babe?” Devyn felt her brows knit together in the confusion she felt when Dhonny told her the first time. She
leaned on the kitchen isle, her eyes searching him for answers. What did he think she would do that was so bad that he was keeping shit from her? Koi
told her pretty much everything. At least things that were kind of a big deal...This was! She didn’t know when they’d started keeping things from
one another…
“I should have been there.”
Koi - 30-6-2014 at 05:40 PM
I had dinner with Dhonny... Oookay? Koi nodded slowly as Devyn followed him into the house, her voice falling silent. He couldn't lie, he
didn't see the significance of her comment. She had dinner with Dhonny. Great, so had he about a week ago. They'd gone to Basil's on the boardwalk and
had a slice. Nothing to write home to mom about. Yet, thinking about what Devyn's comment meant had his brain busy from the front door to the kitchen,
Koi stopping at the fridge for a bottle of water. He felt her eyes on him as he stood in the open door of the refrigerator, looking through the
bottles of water that he'd gone in there for in the first place. And he waited...for what he knew was coming next. Drama, of course...
Scoffing, he closed the fridge door, Devyn's words sinking in. She'd had dinner with Dhonny...and he'd told her about his parents finding the
pregnancy test box. Ah. That was why dinner with Dhonny had been so important. His homie had told her what Koi had told him...not really in confidence
as he'd been in the middle of a ranting fit about Shemar and his nosy ass and it'd just kind of...slipped out. But the point was that Dhonny had
opened his mouth and now Devyn knew. Koi turned around, leaning against the fridge as he looked at Devyn, waiting for her to show him how she was
feeling about something that wasn't even meant to be a serious as she was probably about to make it. Her brow was wrinkled, so she was confused. There
was a slight pout in her lips, so she was kinda hurt. And her arms crossed over her chest as she leaned against the counter, asking him why she
wouldn't tell him.
"Why would I?" He countered, shaking his head in confusion. "It was nothing. No big deal..." His words stopped as he left the fridge and went to the
wine chiller under the counter next to the sink, hoping that that bottle of Grey Goose that his Pops hadn't finished was still in there. He was going
to need something way fucking stronger than water.
"You should've been there? Why?" She should've been there? And why? So both of them could've heard his Pop's mouth run like a loose ass faucet? No. He
would've never wanted her there for that shit. She'd had enough stress those weeks that she'd been going through it, thinking that she and Koi were
knee deep in a shitty situation.
Devyn - 30-6-2014 at 06:08 PM
“Why wouldn’t you?” Why was he answering her questions with questions? It was nothing. No big deal… Somehow Devyn doubted
that. She’d actually seen his mother in action so she was pretty sure Fumie hadn’t stayed silent on the subject, and she already knew his father
had called her every name in the book synonymous with ‘gold digger’. The shit had been rough...Devyn knew it to be true because if it hadn’t
have been, he wouldn’t be trying to trade his water for something a little stronger. Devyn sighed as she stood up, turning to pull a couple glasses
from the cabinet behind her as Koi found the bottle he was looking for. “Somehow I find that hard to believe…”
She should have been there. She should have been with him when the shit went down. Did he not understand that? Did he not get how bad she
felt about leaving him to fend for himself in this shit? They hadn’t been tackling this pregnancy shit without one another so far, so why did he
think he was supposed to take that by himself? He asked her yet another question as he filled their glasses and Devyn felt a little of her irritation
bubble over.
“Koi stop feeding my questions back to me and give me a damn answer!” She sighed, running a hand roughly through her hair as she watched his
irritation spark too, that vein in his temple becoming a bit more visible with Devyn’s demand. He didn’t do well with those. Right now, she
didn’t care.
“All I’m saying is, you shouldn’t have had to take that shit by yourself, Koi. You should have called me, I would have been there, you know
that…-,” He did! He knew she would have been what he needed if he’d just called her…She would never ask, but what worried her the most about
this whole situation was what he did instead of calling her...
Koi - 1-7-2014 at 10:20 AM
What the fuck did she MEAN give him answers? He was! Everything he was telling her was the answer he was giving, but Koi was sure that it wasn't the
answer that she wanted. And THAT was Devyn's problem. What did she want him to say? Aw damn, Devyn. I'm so pissed at you for not being there
during the fucked up conversation with my parents that you obviously didn't need to be there for. I was such a pussy! I couldn't handle it
myself! Fuck that. He could handle it. And he did. He took the fault and the blame from HIS parents. He took all of his father's shitty words and
fucked up insults. He took it all because we chose to and then it was finished. Over. There wasn't anything to be pissed about anymore because that
part of their lives was over. Well, was supposed to be over, but it kept showing up like a fucking bad case of the herp. It was resistant to
Koi's ignoring it, Devyn's annoyance with the situation letting him know that fact.
"I GAVE you an answer..." He rebutted, his scowl returning from he and Derrick's outing. His nostrils flared as he searched even harder for the bottle
of vodka, his eyes finally locating it behind two bottles of Moet. He pulled it out, placing it on the top of the island beside the glasses Devyn had
just pulled down from the cabinet.
"Look..." He said, unscrewing the top and pouring them both a shot's worth. He took the moment to think about what she said. He knew she meant well.
Devyn always did. She wanted to be there when everything had gone down, taken her part of responsibility in the situation. He knew her. And that made
her the down ass bitch that he KNEW she was. But he didn't NEED her. Not then. Not at that moment. He didn't need Shemar saying the fucked up shit
he'd said to Koi about her that nearly had Koi and his own Pops throwin' hands. He didn't want his mother looking at her the way she'd looked at him,
like he was a fucking child. Like all he did was fuck up. Like if there WAS a child, he wouldn't have known his ass from his elbows. And he didn't
want the questions. The questions that he damn near got from Dhonny. Questions that would've made what they had, two friends that fucked on the
regular, even more uncomfortable.
"There wasn't anything to call you about because I dealt with it. On my own. There was nothing to be a 'united front' about. You're not pregnant." He
took his shot back, pouring another one immediately. "And honestly? you're making a big deal out of nothing right now, Devyn. "
Devyn - 1-7-2014 at 12:20 PM
Devyn’s eyes narrowed as Koi yelled at her about his so called answers. She refused to go back and forth about this with him. The past
couldn’t be changed. She wanted to be there and she hadn’t been. The deed was done and she wasn’t asking him to build her a time machine or no
shit like that. She just wanted to know why he hadn’t told her...According to him there had been nothing to tell, but she knew he was lying to her.
Why was Koi always so hell bent on dealing with the bullshit of his home life on his own? He didn’t have to do that anymore. That’s what she was
trying to tell him, but he wasn’t listening.
I dealt with it. On my own. Devyn sucked her teeth, her eyes rolling as Koi confirmed what she already knew. No shit she wasn’t pregnant.
So they were going to pretend her almost being pregnant wasn’t still a pretty big deal? They were going to pretend he hadn’t gotten the lecture
of a lifetime about busting off in Devyn as if they were married and middle aged? Nah. She wasn’t pretending with him today. Not about this. She
wanted him to know she had his back. On everything. She thought he did know that, but he seemed to be under the impression that there was a limit with
her. There wasn’t. Koi meant more to her than anyone else and there wasn’t anything he could ask her for that she wouldn’t give. That was
dangerous and she knew it, so she often pushed the thought to the back of her mind and prayed that he never pushed her too far. He never did,
because they understood one another...or so she thought.
Tossing back her shot, Devyn let it burn in her throat before speaking. “Number one, it’s not “nothing” to me. And number two, I’m not
making a big deal out of anything I’m trying to have a fucking conversation with you!” Was she really asking for too much. A real reason for not
telling her about the run in with his ‘rents? If it wasn’t a big deal why hadn’t he mentioned it? Secrets weren’t usually “nothing”.
“But what the fuck ever, nigga. If you wanna catch an attitude with me, I guess we’ll let the shit go and you can go back to hiding shit from
me.” Devyn shrugged, her eyes never leaving him, a silent challenge. She knew he was hiding, because she knew what it looked like...She wasn’t
being fair. With all the things she hadn’t told Koi about herself, she had no right to demand anything from him, but this was different. Her past
didn’t actually involve him. His pregnancy scare did. She wasn’t wrong for wanting to take responsibility for herself and she wasn’t going to
pretend she was.
Koi - 2-7-2014 at 04:30 PM
It's not nothing to me Of course it wasn't. Most of the shit Koi had done in the last few weeks was something to her and Devyn wasn't
hesitating to let him know it. If it wasn't about the fucking pregnancy that wasn't, it was the way he partied. And okay, he could understand that one
as she was still fucked up from the way her mother had passed away. He got it. But still...lately? It'd been "something" every time he turned
around...constant drama that he had to sort out or fix or...shit. He was just tired. Tired of how repetitive it was starting to be. Why couldn't he
just fucking do him? If it wasn't her asking or prodding at him for some answer he couldn't give her, it was fucking Derrick prodding and pushing at
him about HER. Goddamn. Neverending bullshit was starting to pile up in his "drama" tray and Koi couldn't lie, he just wanted to dump it the trash can
and keep it moving. BUT. And that was a strong BUT...he couldn't. He'd promised. No matter how much she stressed him the fuck out he
just...he couldn't leave her. He just...he needed his space, though. Baby was pushing and she kept pushing and...
"...A conversation that I WANT TO STOP HAPPENING BUT YOU WON'T DROP THE SHIT!" He downed his second shot quickly, slamming the glass onto the granite
top of the island so hard he was sure it was going to shatter in his hand. He inhaled deeply, exhaling shakily as he felt the vein in his temple throb
even worse. Why wouldn't she back up off him? Was it really that serious to know WHY he wouldn't want her in the same room with his father? Or why he
just wanted to stop talking about it long enough to let the drama simmer down so they could just move the fuck on?! No, but she didn't WANT to move
on. She wanted to dwell on shit, her response to him raising her voice letting him know that once again, she was going for blood. His gaze shifted to
her, a glare burning into her as she stared back at him. She really wanted to do this. Okay...
"You know what?" He asked, chucking his glass so hard into the sink that this time, it did shatter. "FINE. What you wanna know? You wanna know how
many times my Pops called you out your name? And how I wanted to break his fucking nose every time he did? You wanna know how much I just wanted to
FORGET that I nearly fucked your life up? How about how shitty and fucked up it was that if you were pregnant, I actually had to THINK about if I
wanted you to keep it?" His voice echoed through the kitchen, the silence that followed it sounding way too quiet after the way he'd just yelled.
"What else!? What else do you think I'm hiding from you?!" He stared at her, waiting for her to answer him with some snide remark that showed him
just how much chill she DIDN'T have...until a sound behind him made him turn.
...and look straight into his Pop's slimy ass grin.
"Oh shit..." He chuckled, biting his lips sarcastically as he pretended to hide the smile he obviously wanted them to see. "Am I interrupting
something?"
Devyn - 3-7-2014 at 01:03 AM
Devyn held her gaze as Koi pitched his glass into the sink, hearing it shatter into a thousand pieces over the sound of his voice. FINALLY! He was
fucking giving her something! Why he felt the need to have her drag it out of him was beyond her, but this was what she’d wanted from the moment
she’d told him about the ‘might-be’ pregnancy. A reaction. He’d been nothing short of calm, cool, and annoyingly collected when holding her
together in the pool house. Not that she didn’t appreciate that, she did. Koi had been her rock in (probably) too many things and she was more than
grateful for everything he’d done for her. The shit with her mom, the shit with this scare, the everyday shit she stirred up about the little
things. He stuck around. And it meant a lot to her...No one else had ever bothered.
So yeah. When she knew Koi wasn’t getting a release outside of sex with her, she brought the shit up. She CARED about him. She loved him; not that
she could tell him so...Despite how cool he tried to play things, she knew when Koi actually needed to get out some of that emotion he packed down.
Him keeping secrets was red flag number one that she needed to do something.
So she let him yell at her, the truth finally coming out about...well about the whole situation really. Possibly more truth than she really wanted to
hear. She felt her face fall as he revealed that he’d thought about having to ask her not to keep a kid neither of them would have been ready for.
Did he think he was alone in all of that? Did he think she hadn’t thought about not even telling him and just getting rid of it without him ever
knowing? That she didn’t sometimes wish she hadn’t told him and they didn’t have to have conversations like these...But she had told him and she
was dealing with it. He wasn’t. He was still trying to ignore something that obviously needed to be talked about. Something that demanded
to be felt. He was allowed to feel things! She was going to tell him that, but before she got the chance, someone else drew her attention.
“Koi-,” he cut her off, his voice raising in the short silence that had followed his small rant. The answers to his questions were for another
time, because the two of them had company.
Koi’s eyes followed hers to his dad; a satisfied smirk on his face at the spat he’d walked in on. Devyn resisted the urge to roll her eyes as
Shemar spoke, asking if he was interrupting. Yes. He was. And more than anything Devyn wanted him to crawl back into whatever hole he’d crawled out
of so he could be out of her sight and not reminding her of the less alarming, but still disgusting qualities of her own father...but this was his
home...and she’d technically been asking for this.
“No, actually-,” she leaned away from the island sighing as she prepared to tackle the same issue with a different Kidd. “I was hoping we could
talk a little.” She wanted to have this conversation with both parents, but seeing as neither of them was ever home at all, let alone at the same
time, she’d take her licks separately. All that really mattered was that they knew this wasn't all the kid’s fault. That Devyn had been the cause
of all this trouble and that she’d never meant for any of it to happen.
She wanted to take responsibility.
Shemar - 5-7-2014 at 04:34 PM
Trouble in paradise, eh? Shemar had heard the shouting before he passed the front door of the house, Koi's voice the loudest. And to think,
he was actually about to burst in the house, complaining about the stupid motherfucker that had taken his parking place...just to start some shit
between the two sickening love birds. But this was so much better! And Shemar hadn't had to do a damn thing! From what he'd heard from Koi's loud,
emotional ass yelling, they were arguing about the one thing that threatened to fuck everything about their happy existence up, that pregnancy fuck
up. Shemar couldn't help but shake his head every time he thought about how Koi had nearly messed everything up for himself...and over some nappy head
too? Please. She may have had one of the fattest asses Shemar had seen on a girl THAT young in a while, but that didn't mean a damn thing! She wasn't
worth child support and she definitely hadn't been worth Koi fucking up his future over her. But that was for his thick headed son to figure out on
his own, he guessed. Or he could mess up and actually get her pregnant and get thrown the fuck out of Shemar's house. You know, which ever.
With a smile, he looked between the two arguing teenagers, the annoyed lines in Koi's face going deeper when he saw Shemar standing in the door of the
kitchen. Shemar didn't care. This was his house and he walked where the fuck he wanted to WHEN he wanted to. With that thought, he loosened his tie,
eyeing his bottle of Grey Goose on the island as Devyn talked about...something. Shit, he wasn't really listening. He'd just made an appearance for
some Kidd's Kids thing that Fumie made him fill in for and all he wanted to do was sip the fucking vodka that his son had already gotten into. He
looked at Koi and shook his head, laughing at how predictable this shit was. His son, in the middle of an argument, throwing back shots. Yep, those
two stints in rehab did wonders, though.
"Oh! Hey, Baby Mama!" Shemar feigned surprise as he spoke to Devyn, completely ignoring everything she'd just said.
"How's it been since...you know..." Shemar put on the theatrics, his eyes shifting from Koi back to her, a grimace crossing his face before it melted
into another smile.
Devyn - 5-7-2014 at 05:29 PM
Devyn watched as Shemar loosened his tie and she knew this was going to be yet another unpleasant experience in the Kidd household. She braced
herself, listening to him laugh as he shook his head at the two of them and came further into the kitchen. She spoke, telling him he wasn’t
interrupting, but she could easily see that he didn’t care whether he was or not. Shema wanted in on the drama. He wanted to be a part of whatever
was going on and it was...annoying. To say the absolute least. At most it was intrusive. She and Koi really needed to work out this scare. She thought
they could be fine without mentioning it ever again, but someone else had brought it up for the two of them and that someone was currently standing
before them...being a sardonic ass.
Baby Mama? Really? That was fucking funny to him? How she and Koi had almost fucked up their chances at a real future? How they had nearly
made him a grandfather? How she had almost put all his chances of going pro on hold? Sure. That was hilarious...for some reason though Devyn
couldn’t laugh with him. How had he just opened his mouth and she was already done with him? She regretted speaking at all and with one glance at
Koi, she could tell he resented her for it. She needed to shut up. She needed to heed the completely stressed out look on Koi’s face and get the
fuck gone...but she couldn’t. This was necessary.
What wasn’t necessary was Shemar’s next question, asking how everything had been since...ugh. She wanted so bad to be petty. She wanted so bad to
let him know that mere hours ago, Koi had had her legs on top of his shoulders as he dove off in her again and again. How he’d eaten her out as if
going to see Derrick was certain death and she was his last meal. She wanted to tell him...but she didn’t. Biting her lip and nodding her
understanding at his words. He was still mad. That was understandable with the trouble she’d caused...Of course Devyn was trying to be an adult
about it. Shemar was obviously not. She blinked slowly, wondering if he was going to straighten up and give her the courtesy of a serious
conversation. Probably not.
“I’ve been okay…-,” her voice was flat. She wasn’t interested in giving him any help in making this whole matter a joke. “You should know
it wasn’t all the kid’s fault...the scare.” She was skipping the bullshit. She wasn’t going to give him room to make this anything other than
what it was. Her apology to her friend’s parents for almost ruining him.
Koi - 6-7-2014 at 09:04 AM
And this evening was turning out to be the shit that nightmares were made of. Koi rolled his eyes, his nostrils flaring as his father grinned at him.
Fantastic. Well, Koi was glad that all of the shit going down in the kitchen was entertaining for his Pops. At least someone was getting a kick out
of it. Koi, on the other hand, wanted it to be over...more than anything. Walking to the sink, he fell silent, moving as far away from his father as
he could. Why did it have to be him? If anyone could've walked into the kitchen, interrupting a fight between he and Devyn, why the fuck did it have
to be Shemar? Koi picked up the pieces of glass shards in the sink carefully, his nerves on edge as he heard Devyn speak. His head snapped in her
direction, his brows furrowing as she...welcomed his father's presence? What the fuck...was she doing?! Koi didn't have to verbally as as his widened
eyes were giving the message.
I was hoping we could talk a little... No. NO. The sound of glass rebreaking in the sink rang out as Koi dropped every piece he'd managed to
pick up. An exhasperated sigh escaped his lips. She had no idea...what fucking pandora box she'd just opened. She was about to try and talk to Shemar
Kidd...about what Koi KNEW had something to do with their pregnancy scare. Did she NOT GET IT? What did she NOT GET about his fucking father? Since
the night they'd spent together on Valentine's Day, Koi had been pretty fucking open about his father with Devyn. She KNEW what kind of person he
could be, now. Hell, she'd had an idea of who he could be before Koi even let her know, their first meeting still probably real fresh in her mind. But
THIS was the person she decided to have THIS talk with? Mother fucking fuck! Koi really thought she was smarter than this shit. He really thought she
knew better. Apparently not.
"Devyn..." He spoke her name between clenched teeth, an apparent warning. But she just kept right the fuck on, even after his father's blatant insult.
Baby mama? Really? Even Koi had to shoot him a "nigga..." look out the corner of his eye. His Pops was already pushing buttons that didn't
need to be pushed and by the look on Devyn's face, he only had a couple more to push before the real shit hit the fan.
"You don't fucking need to do this, Dev." He spoke over her again as she tried to free Koi from blame. God, her mouth. It was doing everything that
Koi wished it wouldn't. Like keep talking. Like apologizing for shit that wasn't nearly just "her fault". But no, she was going to keep talking. And
from the dangerous grin on his father's face, Shemar was going to play this situation out until the end.
Devyn - 6-7-2014 at 11:54 AM
Koi wanted her to stop. Her eyes fell to him as he tried speaking over her and her apparently needless explanation. She only wanted to set shit
straight. She knew how strained things already were between he and his parents without her feeling like she was the reason for things getting worse.
He may not have gotten it, but she was trying to help! She couldn’t fight with him about it now, especially not in front of his father. She didn’t
respond to him with words, her face holding a pout, begging him not to stop her from getting this shit out. She needed this. Koi did too.
Turning her attention back to his father Devyn tried to pull together what she really wanted to say to him. It was hard because looking at Shemar
reminded her so much of her own dad. Not the savage parts, of course. There was nothing about Shemar that struck fear into her. He didn’t flip a
switch and go from loving and compassionate father to gruesome and violent murderer. Shemar Kidd was the kind of jackass she could deal with. He was
nothing more than a whore with too big of an ego and not nearly enough maturity.
“What happened with Koi and I was a mistake that won’t happen again. I know you and Mrs. Kidd talked to him about it and he probably said the same
thing, but I wanted you to hear it from me too…-,” Devyn paused, trying to read Shemar’s reaction, but he just smiled. That slimy smile that
made her want to change into a turtleneck and pick up a bible. A smile that said exactly what Koi’s glare was telling her; he didn’t give a shit
what she had to say and all of this was for his amusement...was there any winning?
Probably not.
Shemar - 6-7-2014 at 02:48 PM
Aw. How precious. Was this girl...apologizing? Shemar had to fight the chuckle that wanted to break from behind his smiling lips. Wow. Now
that, he wasn't expecting. Not that she didn't look like the type to get on her knees and beg Daddy like a good girl...no, that wasn't it. He was just
surprised that she was saying any of this...to him. It was obvious that when she started talking, he didn't care. He'd never cared about anything that
had happened between her and Koi. He'd admit that he was a little concerned about how much time Koi spend with the little chicken head, but any of the
shit that went on in their lovey dovey relationship was far beyond his concern. The only thing Shemar cared about? Her fucking up his legacy because
her legs were wide open to a nigga that couldn't even think to put a rubber on it before he pushed his little young ass dick inside of her. Yeah,
Shemar may have fucked up with Koi's mother. But, at least he was already in the door, a rookie for the Bulls...and any girl he'd fucked before or
after her? Condom. Two, if he must. But all thoughts aside, none of his recollection on the past mattered because his son hadn't fucked up his life
and the little fast ass bitch he nearly destroyed it with wasn't pregnant. So...why was she talking to him?
"I'm sorry...you're apologizing why?" He asked, his eyes moving to Koi who was glaring at him, his eyes speaking way louder than he even had to. Shit,
Shemar couldn't understand why he was getting the look of death. This little ass girl had to know that he didn't give a fuck about anything she was
saying. She had no weight. She was just some stupid ass that his son brought around HIS house way too much. Did she even HAVE a home? Shemar didn't
know with the way she was posted up at their home. And as little as he was actually inside his own residence, seeing her every time he was there was
brinking on too much.
"You're not pregnant, right?" He asked her, sighing as he actually waited for the answer, his smile faltering as he shrugged at her.
"That's all I give a fuck about. You...not fucking up something that I built. You, not getting your hands on dollars that ain't yours because you out
here puttin' holes in condoms. Ha...if this stupid nigga's even wearin' them." Looking at Koi again, he shook his head, scoffing as he walked to the
fridge for a Corona. They better not have touched his fucking Coronas.
"That's what matters..."
Devyn - 6-7-2014 at 04:51 PM
Apologize? Ha. No...No. Not to Shemar. She would apologize to Koi. She would even apologize to Fumie. Shemar? Shemar was getting an explanation that
she felt was necessary after scaring the shit out of everyone with her faux baby. When had she said she was sorry about anything to him? If anything
he should be apologizing to Koi. Because if their conversation had gone anything like the one Devyn was having now (and she was sure it’s been
worse), his son was owed it...Devyn probably should have known. She probably should have guessed from the things Koi had told her and the things
she’d experienced first hand with Shemar, that he was going to make this difficult. She wouldn’t let him. His response wasn’t important. All
that mattered was Devyn letting him know what she felt about the situation. She’d say her piece and be done.
And that’s just what she did ignoring his question of her “apology”...although she couldn’t hide her emotion as he spoke to her again asking
for assurance that she wasn’t pregnant. Her brows knitted together as she gave him the sickest side eye. She watched his smile falter as
his question went unanswered and he shrugged, poised to continue. That’s all I give a fuck about…Really? Just like that? Devyn heard
herself scoff in amusement and it turned into a short laugh. This shit was unbelieveable...
“Right…” Devyn licked her lips as she tried to calm herself. Why was he so fucking disrespectful?! She could feel her father
coming up in her as her patience ran out for Shemar’s bullshit. Hilton was never one for disrespect either and the nonchalant, snide ass comments
were something that might have gotten him killed if he’d known who he was talking to...and if she was talking to her father to make such a
request…Lucky for him, she wasn’t talking to Hilton and he wouldn’t have to either. Unlucky for him?
“Y’know…fuck you.” Devyn’s voice was calm, her face still in a soft grimace of disgust with him and the complete lack of respect he
had for his son. She nodded as she continued talking, “That’s what really matters. FUCK. YOU. Is what the fuck matters. He’s fucking standing
right there-,” she stood, pointing to Koi who was probably on edge waiting to see how far she was going to take this. She wouldn’t look at him
though, her eyes still boring into Shemar’s. “And he can hear you...What the hell is your problem? Koi is your SON and you’re talking about him
like a business…”
Why did that bother her so much? Maybe because she’d heard it all before...
Koi - 6-7-2014 at 07:10 PM
If there was a wall to melt into or a deep fucking hole in the floor to fall in order to get out of the situation that Koi found himself in, he
would've taken it. No questions. There was nothing quite like having your best friend, who you hook up with more than just "on occasion" (like a
couple of hours ago) try to explain the pregnancy scare that you'd both sprung on your family...and THEN have your Pops talk about how "ain't shit"
you are in front of her AND in front of you like you weren't even there. [Ah, memories. Fortunately for Koi, he'd heard it all before. His
father had been calling him "pointless" since the second he'd figured out he didn't have to play father of the year for his children anymore. One of
his greatest moments. It honestly didn't even hurt anymore. It was like a numbed out bruise...you know if you get punched there, the bruise will get
worse except you start noticing just how much you don't feel the pain from it. Shemar said a lot of shit. It was all white noise to Koi now, even if
he'd said it in front of Devyn. But he could tell by the tightness on her face that she didn't feel the same apathy that he felt. She didn't see it as
a "painless wound" like he did. She hurt for him, her face grimacing as his Pops told her how much he didn't care about her apology. She wasn't even
apologizing. She was just explaining something to someone who couldn't have given less of a damn. It was like talking to a brick wall with his Pops
and Koi thought she'd understand that. But she didn't...not until he spelled it out for her.
"Dev..." Koi called her name again as a very salty "Right" left her lips. He looked at her warily, his head shaking at her subtly, silently telling
her not to waste her breath on him. Not to explain herself anymore. Not to even make a comment in his direction. Shemar didn't deserve it.
Y'know...fuck you. Whoa. Koi's mouth dropped open, his eyes widening more than they had been before. Oh hell... And Devyn was done.
She was done trying, she was just...done. And even though Koi didn't blame her, no one in that room was ready for the shit that was about to ensue.
Especially since his Pops had DEFINITELY heard the blatant words coming out of her mouth, leaning back to look at her on the other side of the open
fridge door. He popped the top on the Corona, letting it clatter to the floor as he stared at her, the unmistakable "surprise" still on his face.
"Really...you don't need to..." Koi tried to interrupt her, to slow the words that were spilling over, but they just kept coming, Devyn' correcting
his father's behavior like he was a bad ass elementary kid in the principal's office. Was it hitting home? Fuck no. But Devyn said it anyway, pointing
at Koi for emphasis, her eyes burning into Shemar's. The room fell silent after she'd said she'd had to say, his father staring at her as he drank
from his beer bottle, drinking half of it in one swig. He put it down on the counter, his eyes still on Devyn, his lips tight as he spoke.
"Little girls with loose ass mouths need to watch talkin' about shit that they don't understand..." Shemar said, his voice growing menacingly darker
with every word.
Devyn - 7-7-2014 at 01:59 AM
She and Shemar were having a little staring contest and she refused to lose anything to the likes of him. Even as Koi spoke to her, he went
ignored, her words striking quickly and without mercy. Yes, she was in his kitchen, in his home, but that shit seemed less than important to her now.
If Shemar didn’t have any respect for anything or anybody, why should she? Fuck him, and fuck the noise Koi was talking about her backing down. He
probably wasn’t going to listen, but she was damn sure going to tell him about herself...Why did her life seem to keep repeating itself in this damn
house?
She knew why she was really feeling the way she was about Shemar talking about Koi like that. And yes, it was partly because she was sure it hurt for
Koi to listen to his own father talk about him like a commodity instead of a person, but...it burned deeper for her brother. Shemar’s lack of love
wasn’t something new to Devyn because her brother had heard plenty of the same being groomed to carry on for “Leonidas”
if he ever died (because true evil never does). You don’t have time for that bullshit boy! You’re a Devereaux. Act like
it. He was a kid. Fourteen, maybe fifteen trying to live his fucking life...Something Hilton had no problem telling him he didn’t have time
for. Something Hilton had no patience for.
So yeah, she was half talking to Shemar, but he was getting the full weight of her pain. Catching hell, for all of the shit fathers she’d ever had
the displeasure of knowing...And he didn’t appreciate it.
Devyn watched as Shemar downed half his beer, setting the bottle on the counter in front of him. She listened as his tone darkened and he threatened
her. HA! If she hadn’t been so angry she might have taken the time to have a much needed laugh. Instead, her lips took on a dark smirk and her head
fell, her eyes still looking at Shemar through her lashes.
“And little boys who grew old but never grew up need to watch talking reckless to people they don’t really know...” He didn’t know
her. Koi didn’t know her for that matter to even tell him...but Devyn feared one man in her life and Shemar Kidd was not him. If push came to shove
and she had to match his propensity for violent tantrums (because she could tell Shemar had more than words for people he felt were overstepping
boundaries), she would have no problem beating him at his own little game.
That rage was in her blood.
Shemar - 7-7-2014 at 06:01 PM
The fuck did this little girl think she was? Shemar couldn't tell if she was serious or not when she spoke to him with the authority of his
motherfucking momma in her damn voice. Who. The fuck. Did she think she was? Coming up on his house and correcting the way he treated his family? The
way he talked to his own damn son bothered her? Oh, okay. She could remedy it herself by removing that ass from his kitchen and promptly getting the
fuck into her car. But no, she chose the opposite route. Reprimand. Ha. Somebody should've told her. Hell, Koi should've told her. He
should've stopped her dead in the middle of her words and reminded her of who his father was. But his dick was too far up her to even remember
himself...which was fucking evident by the fact that she was just apologizing to him for nearly exposing herself for the gold digger Shemar already
knew she was. She may have had Koi fooled, but Shemar could see right through her. And he didn't mind letting her know and putting her back in her
place...
...and obviously, she didn't mind attempting to put him in his. Little boy?
"The fuck'd you say to me?" Shemar coughed out, his beer bottle back to his lips after his warning to her. It was apparent as fuck that that warning
was unnecessary as she ignored it anyway, telling him how stuck in boyhood he was and how he needed to watch how he talked to her. He brushed away the
beer from his tie that he'd choked on, setting down the beer bottle harder than he had the first time.
"The fuck did she say to me?" He asked his son, who looked just as surprised as Shemar had that been his little bitch had snapped back at him. No
fucking respect.
"Let me tell you something, Baby Mama. Don't let this motherfuckin' house, this suit, the money...don't LET that shit fool yo' stupid, money grubbin'
ass." Pointing at her, his eyes narrowed as his voice rose, his anger growing every second he looked at that expression on her face. The way she
looked at him like he was the fucking scum of the Earth. Like she was above him. Like she ruled shit in HIS HOUSE.
"This nigga may wear a nice fuckin' suit, but I'm all Detroit underneath it! Watch your motherfuckin' mouth." Readjusting his suit jacket, his eyes
bore into her as he took the last swig from his beer and placed it in the sink.
"If you're done trying to assert yourself in MY house, feel free to remove yourself from it."
Devyn - 8-7-2014 at 04:17 PM
The fuck you say to me? He heard her. If he hadn’t, he wouldn’t have that stuck ass look on his face. She wasn’t about to repeat
herself and she sure as hell wasn’t backing down. Koi might have let him get by talking that shit to him on a daily basis, but Devyn wasn’t
standing for it. Disrespecting him meant disrespecting her and Devyn wouldn’t have that shit either way. Yes, Shemar was Koi’s father and she may
or may not have been working her way to an ass whooping, but none of that mattered to her right now. What did was making sure Shemar knew how wrong he
was in what he was doing. There seemed to be a theme in this house this weekend with Devyn correcting past mistakes. She wasn’t staying quiet
anymore.
“You don’t need to ask him to clarify. You heard what I said.” Devyn’s gaze would not falter even as Shemar’s grew darker by the second. He
spoke, telling her not to be fooled by the suit and the money and…what a crock of shit. She was getting a little tired of him talking to
her as if she’d never experienced money before. He seemed to think she was after some kind of cash that Koi didn’t have yet. As if she couldn’t
actually care about Koi as a person...but what could she expect with a man who only thought of him as a paycheck. As a prodigy. As the next
him. But Koi wasn’t his father.
Devyn rolled her eyes as Shemar finished his beer and stopped running his mouth...and then did just what she expected him to do. She chuckled as he
told her she was free to leave. Whatever.
“Gladly-,” she finally broke eye contact, turning to pull her bag from the counter. Devyn’s hair flipped over her shoulder as she turned back to
him, her last words poised on her lips, “But my stupid money grubbin’ ass will be back.” She smirked, winking as she moved past him.
She and Koi were solid. Always. Sure, maybe they were shaky now, but neither of them was going anywhere. Devyn especially.
Koi - 9-7-2014 at 03:56 PM
"Pops..." Koi muttered, avoiding his father's question as it was obvious Shemar had heard exactly what Devyn had just said to him. Fuck You.
Two simple words that meant exactly what Devyn wanted them to mean. There was no question about them, but there was blatant disbelief as his father
was probably still trying to figure out how it was fucking possible for some random ass girl to say the words she'd said to him in his own home. And
koi couldn't help wonder himself...why it'd taken HIM so damn long to say the same thing? Oh yeah. His mother. Eri. The need to keep his fucking blood
pressure down because Shemar Kidd was the only motherfucker that could make him feel like he was about to stroke out on conversation, alone. That.
That was what had kept him reasonably silent when it came to his father and his father's penchant for asshole-ness. But Devyn? She was free. No ties.
Nothing that connected her to the fucked up house that Koi was made to live in with his FUCKED UP father. She could say anything that came to her MIND
about the man that stood in that kitchen with her.
Like the back and forth they were having right in front of Koi and just like usual, he felt powerless as fuck. His Pops saying fucked up shit to
Devyn. Her biting right back where it hurt. Koi watching it play out, words volleying back and forth like a tennis ball at a match. They had to stop.
They both needed to fucking stop...before shit got real. Before his dad showed Devyn just how much of an asshole he could be. Before she found out
that he had NO problem putting his hands on a woman.
"C'mon ya'll just...can you just chill out for one se..." Koi attempted to speak over them, his words falling silent underneath his father's rant,
letting Devyn know that despite the what he looked like, just how "Detroit" he was. Which Koi nearly laughed at considering that his father hadn't
stepped closed to Saginaw since his Moms popped off at him in front of the fam for being a fucking cheater AND a lying...considering his sisters let
her know just how much of an "ain't shit" nigga he STILL was after he promised he'd changed. Koi's father knew as much about Detroit as he knew about
being a "good father". Fucking nothing.
"Yo, Pops...you gotta chill." He said again...and was ignored...by his father throwing Devyn out. What?
"Dad! Chill, bruh!" His voice raised over Devyn's "gladly", his hand blocking the door as she moved to get her purse off the table, her mouth still
flying as she tried to move past him. He shook his head, his arm curling around her waist as he held her back from leaving.
"You ain't goin' nowhere." He muttered to her before he looked up into the newly surprised eyes of his father, his head shaking at his father's
dismissal of Devyn.
"She ain't goin' nowhere, Pops. Not over this. This is stupid!"
Devyn - 10-7-2014 at 12:33 PM
Devyn had no problem with leaving this God forsaken house, her bag in arm and her feet moving toward the door despite Koi’s pleas for both she and
his father to just chill the fuck out. That wasn’t happening. Shemar was a stubborn ass and Devyn could be just as stubborn. She spoke over Koi,
letting Shemar know that her leaving now didn’t mean shit, but her words faltered as Koi’s arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her close to him.
You ain’t going nowhere. Devyn felt her lips pull at the corners and she fought back a smile as he confirmed what she already knew. Like
she’d said, they were always going to be good. She knew he was still annoyed with her for starting this, the tension in his face making that
completely apparent, but he still wanted her with him.
“Babe, it’s fine-,” Devyn turned to face him, her hand meeting his chest as she looked at him for the first time since starting this fight with
his father. He was well on his way to turning a bright shade of fire engine red and the challenge he was staring down his dad with might have been
deeper than hers had been. Devyn wasn’t leaving. Not over this...but she was. She didn’t need to stay. Shemar wasn’t listening, her lingering
would only mean more stress for Koi, and if she was being completely honest with herself, Devyn couldn’t bear to be in the same room with Shemar at
the current moment...Her father was far too heavy on her mind for anything to end well in that kitchen. “I can go. It’s okay…”
He didn’t need to fight for her. And despite how attractive she found it, she didn’t want him to. The point of her saying anything in the first
place was taking the heat off him with this pregnancy thing. She’d never meant to pile shit on with another fight. Gah, how did she keep fucking
up?! She just wanted to make shit right; she was making shit worse.
Leaving was probably better for everybody.
Shemar - 13-7-2014 at 03:42 PM
Discussion goddamn over. And in Shemar's honest opinion, it had gone on seconds too long...especially when it was with Koi's slut rat of a
girlfriend...or whatever the fuck it is he was calling her. Guess there wasn't really a term for "bitch you keep in the friend zone although you put
your young ass dick in her every fucking night". It didn't really matter what his son called that girl, Shemar just wanted her out of his damn kitchen
and the end of her disrespect. And it looked like she was about to be out his door, her mouth still giving him a lot of talk that he didn't need or
want. She'd be back? The fuck did she think this was? Some cheap ass motel with a revolving door? Nah. Four words. Private property, dumb
bitch. If Shemar didn't want her there, she wouldn't be there. Those were the benefits of having money, something that this simple ass obviously
didn't understand. The talk was meaningless. But hey, this was all a positive thing. Shemar could stop turning a blind eye to their fucked up, soap
opera romance and Koi could start taking her to a motel like the whore she was. If there was anything he needed to learn from his Pops, that was it.
You don't bring your whores home. One day his son would learn to operate like a grown man and stop all this fucking child's play.
She ain't goin' nowhere... Oh really? Shemar turned away from the sink, a smirk of unbelief on his face as he stared at his first born son.
What the fuck did he just say to him? Shemar was sure that he'd imagined what had come out of Koi's mouth because it sure as fuck sounded like a "no".
No? Shemar's head cocked to the side as Koi's words hit him, the look of "I don't understand" still on his features. This shit had to be a
hallucination because no one, and Shemar meant no one told him who the fuck he could keep in or kick out of his damn house. Even Fumie knew that the
bitches he fucked with in his spare time stayed away only because HE wanted them to stay away, a "truce" be damned. And now Shemar was getting push
back from his son over some...yeah, no.
"Nah?" Shemar finally said, a laugh accompanying his words. He left the sink slowly, his hands digging into his pockets as he walked towards Koi. He
stopped an inch away from where his son stood, the look on Koi's face real decipherable. He was smelling himself, huh? Little bitch was giving him
some pussy that made him feel like he was a man, right? Yeah, Shemar was about to break that assumption real quick. Another laugh left Shemar's mouth
as he stared his son in his face and watched Koi pull his bitch behind his back. Like he was protecting her. Right...
"That wasn't a question. It wasn't a request. It was a fucking demand." He said simply, his chest inches away from Koi's.
"Say goodbye to that loose legged bitch behind your back." With a flick of his hand, he waved Koi's unwanted guest off.
Devyn - 14-7-2014 at 04:10 PM
If this shit hadn’t been bad already, it was about to get much, much worse. The threat in Shemar’s ‘nah?’ was unmistakable and for the first
time since this argument started, Devyn found herself fearful. Not because of something Shemar might do, but Koi…The kid was already tense about
Devyn having started this whole thing. But Shemar was challenging him; Koi didn’t do well with challenges. She could feel his chest rise, her hand
leaving him as she turned to Shemar’s laugh. She couldn’t help the deepset scowl on her face because she knew damn well that laugh meant trouble.
Devyn watched, her body tense next to Koi’s as Shemar approached, his hands in his pockets. That wasn’t a question…He was uncomfortably
close, his voice more menacing than it had been in their short time together. Koi didn’t give. His gaze never faltered and that vein in his temple
seemed etched there. There was something different in him. When he and Devyn argued there was always a small…spark. Just a little something
to let Devyn know that their argument was temporary and it wasn’t the end….that spark wasn’t there now. Koi was dark.
Devyn’s brows knitted, her arm weaving around Koi’s to let him know she was still there. She looked up to him as Shemar’s last words stood in
the air around them, his insult taking a backseat to the look on Koi’s face. “Babe…” Her hand came to his face as she tried to divert his
focus, but Koi pulled away from her. His eyes still square on his father, his jaw clenched, his stare deadly.
“Koi, don’t.”
Koi - 14-7-2014 at 06:10 PM
Say goodbye to that loose legged bitch behind your back... The slow thud in Koi's temple that he already knew as his hot, racing blood sped
as his body twitched involuntarily, hands clenching into fists at his side. His nostrils flared as he stared down the only man he would ever know as a
father...and the only man that, no matter what he did, would never deserve the title. Because of shit like this... Bold, calculated. This impolite
ass motherfucker... Shemar Kidd wrote the book on causing drama and he chose this moment, when shit was already hitting the fucking fan, to show
how much he not only talked being an asshole, but he walked it. By insulting Devyn. And Koi...was done. He was tired of this fake, fucking
clown. Tired of his mouth. Tired of the fucking insults. Tired of seeing his Moms sport sunglasses on the most overcast of days because her shame
wouldn't let her kids see what Daddy does when he doesn't get his way. Tired of the way nothing...NOTHING Koi did, whether it was on
the court or in his life, was ever good enough to make the father that disappeared when he was eleven come home. Koi couldn't do THIS anymore! Turning
blind eyes and deaf ears to shit that should've had his fist in his father's nose a long damn time ago. He was undisputably finished with Shemar
Kidd.
"Fuck. You." He heard himself say, his voice low as his chest heaved, Devyn's hand at his face as she tried to pull his eyes away from Shemar. He
moved her hand away from him as he pulled his face closer to his father's, a look of dangerous amusement appearing on Shemar's face. Koi's finger
pointed in his Shemar's face as he spoke again.
"...and FUCK your demands. FUCK. YOU." His voice exploded through the silence that the kitchen held. Koi's breaths were coming so quickly, his heart
racing so fast that he knew his emotions were about to take over. He knew this...the numb. He felt it coming. When everything choked him out and the
hollow took over. But it wasn't the same...not this time. Because empty wasn't staying. Something else was filling him as he stood facing his father.
The hot, prickly feeling of it was climbing his body, etching itself into his clenched hands...making them shake with anger.
"And you ain't gone touch her. I said...she's not going NO WHERE." His last words were almost a growl, spoken between teeth clenched so hard that the
shit hurt. But Koi meant what he said. Devyn wasn't going anywhere.
Fumie - 15-7-2014 at 12:57 PM
She was feeling really great. Fumie couldn’t help the smile on her lips as she pulled into her garage spot and turned her car off. “...Well, I’m
glad you had a good day, baby. I wish I could have gone with you guys.” Eri had just finished telling her about a spur of the moment trip to
Surfside with a couple of the girls from her class. She was so excited about Eri growing out of that awkward stage she seemed to be in when it came to
people. Her little girl was shy, but if people just took the time to get to know her...someone finally had and Fumie couldn’t have been more
thankful. So yes she was happy. And her baby having a fun day was icing on the cake to her perfect one.
She’d spent the better part of her day at KnuckleUp with Zori. They had just a little bit of business to tend to with the quickly approaching summer
schedule, but a lot of their time together had been training. He was teaching her to kickbox and trying to get her to meditate regularly. Meditation
wasn’t really her thing, what with not being able to switch her brain off, but somehow that wasn’t much of a problem when the two of them sparred.
Maybe it had something to do with the way he smelled everytime he moved past her. Maybe it was something about the way his hand rested on her stomach when he was fixing her form...whatever it was specifically, she knew it wasn’t meditation that was keeping her “balanced”, but her
time near him.
“What are you thinking for dinner tonight, babe? You think Koi might want to go out with us?” Her hand ran through Eri’s curls as she opened the
garage door into the house and let Eri in front of her. She never got a response from her and she felt her smile fade as she heard the clear sound of
Koi’s voice from the kitchen. FUCK your demands... “Eri, baby go upstairs.” She pouted at her mother’s request, her head already
shaking in response. She wanted to make sure her brother was okay...That wasn’t her place. “Now.” Fumie moved past her, her steps hurried to the
kitchen as Koi’s resounding “NO WHERE” sounded. He wasn’t okay. He was pissed and as Fumie finally entered the kitchen she didn’t have to
guess why. Of course Shemar had taken the few minutes he was home to fight with his son.
Shit! Couldn’t she just come home, run a warm bath, and rub one out to the thought of Zori on top of her? Obviously not. “What’s going on?”
Her voice was quiet, calming. Cautious. Looking around, she could take a guess. Shemar and Devyn in the same room? The recent pregnancy
scare? The words her husband probably had for the “golddigger” trying to trip his son up? Yeah. She didn’t have to ask.
“Koi...Sweets, you want to fill me in?”
Shemar - 27-7-2014 at 06:38 PM
Oh?! So, it was okay to tell Shemar Kidd what to do in Shemar Kidd's house? Koi's shit causing hoe wasn't going...how'd he put it..."no where", huh?
You shittin' me... The words left Shemar's unsmiling lips as he stood toe-to-toe with his only son. Koi was giving the order now? That was
fucking news to him as he was certain that he was still standing in his kitchen, in his house that HE for DAMN sure paid
the mortgage on! Yet, this simple nigga was giving HIM orders?! The night just KEPT offering Shemar surprises, starting with Koi letting the bitch
that he dicked down on the regular back in the house she for damn sure wasn't welcome in. Her presence wasn't desirable and she wasn't needed or
necessary, but then again...when did Koi do anything that Shemar wanted him to do? Like keeping his head in the fucking game...and keeping his loyalty
to his family, not some free pussy bitch that he found at that fucking expensive private school that Fumie had Shemar paying out the ass for. His life
was simple. Shemar had made it that way for him. But Koi didn't do simple, now did he? No...just like his overzealous mother, he liked the fucking
drama. He didn't know how to let shit BE and follow orders. But Shemar was good at breaking wilful things. And the same way he had Fumie's compliance
(even though it was waning more and more every day), he would have Koi's.
"Nah, lil' man..." Shemar's voice lowered, unnervingly quiet next to Koi's shouted words, speaking the name he used on Koi when he was out of control.
When Shemar was just about fucking ready to give up on "words". When actions were about to be his next move.
"...you already know how this shit is about to end..." His hand came up quickly, his son's body tensing against what he expected to be the first
blow...because he knew his father. And Shemar was sure Koi had some sort of idea of how impatient his father was when it came to talking. Instead,
Shemar's hand smoothed the shoulder of Koi's t-shirt, ignoring his son's violent shrug as he tried to move his hand away. He succeeded, Shemar's hand
leaving his shoulder and coming to the neck of the shirt, grabbing it as he pulled Koi closer to him. Close enough to hear exactly what he needed to
hear. Because his words were for Koi...and only Koi.
"...yo' silly ass on the ground and that BITCH in KRPD's finest fucking party cell...where two-dollar hoes like her belong..." He held him there, his
sneer daring Koi to do something other than back the fuck down and LEAVE, taking that slut with him. Yeah, he AND her. THEY could get the fuck out.
And Koi could let her broke ass take care of him. Yeah..."fuck Shemar", right?
Shemar was still staring Koi down as he heard the door beep, a heavy sigh leaving his lips as he let Koi's shirt go and stepped back...because that
door chime meant one thing. Fumie was home...also known as "Koi's saving grace". Shemar looked towards the entrance to the kitchen as Fumie
emerged, workout clothes on, looking like the fucking bag lady she was so readily turning into those days. He shook his head as she spoke...to Koi?
Really? The fuck was she asking him questions for like he was the mother fucking adult in the room?
"Him? Fill you in? Fuck you asking him for?" Shemar spat, his nose flaring as he glared at her.
"Long story short, Koi's...'guest'...got lippy and I had to correct her. End of story."
Devyn - 29-7-2014 at 01:54 PM
Devyn had opened a dangerous door and Koi was stepping through it. Despite her asking him not to, Koi had obviously grown tired of Shemar’s bullshit
and he spoke, his words as simple as hers had been moments earlier. Fuck. You. It was different for him, telling his father something he’d
told plenty of other people before. Devyn could tell in how quietly his first words came, the shakiness of his breath once they were out. He’d never
said that to him before. Despite what Devyn knew to be true about Shemar, Koi had never disrespected him the way he was now. The way she’d pushed
him to.
She never meant for any of this to happen. Honestly, she just wanted to claim her part in the pregnancy scare and move the fuck on from it. She and
Koi had been good. She thought. Even with her getting all emotional after Derrick’s party, they had spent a good part of just this morning
wrapped up in one another. How had things turned to shit so fast?
Dev let go of Koi’s arm as he stepped closer to his father, his voice raised and his finger pointed in Shemar’s face. She wanted to tell him to
stop, to calm down, but she didn’t. He needed this. Just as she’d felt the need to start this whole thing by taking responsibility, Koi had taken
it upon himself to end it. And he was doing so by finally telling Shemar Kidd how he really felt. How far Shemar let him go with that
however, was a complete toss up and the suspense was threatening to kill her.
Shemar spoke and looking between Koi and his father, Devyn could feel her body tense with the situation. Koi wouldn’t get beyond the few “fuck
yous” he’d gotten out because Shemar’s amused smirk had slipped into a dangerous expression that Devyn knew all too well. And as Shemar reached
out, she even felt herself jump a bit, stepping closer to the men, sure he was about to hit him...he didn’t. Devyn could only watch, her breath
bated as Shemar’s fist gripped Koi’s collar and pulled him closer, sharing private words not meant for Devyns ears. Had she been interested in
anything but Koi right now, she might have asked if Shemar had something he wanted to share with the class. But what he was saying (surely about her)
wasn’t important. What was important was the kid.
“Koi, please-,” she wanted to beg him to let this shit drop. He shouldn’t have been doing this shit with his dad. Not because she pushed him to
it. Not because of her. She would have continued, but the chime of their alarm system diverted everyone’s attention. Devyn sighed as Shemar did but
her’s was a sigh of relief. Maybe Fumie would be able to put an end to this whole thing? She could hope, right? Koi...Sweets, you want to fill
me in? He never had the chance, his father jumping in before Koi could answer. Devyn had gotten ‘lippy’...She could feel her expression turn
to a soft grimace, but she said nothing, hoping Fumie would just ask Koi again what was going on.
“Okay…-,” Fumie paused, her next words careful in such a fragile situation. “Shemar, baby, why don’t you let me deal with this? I know you
had that appearance today…” Hmm. That was different. Devyn had been sure her dismissal was imminent. Not that she would blame Fumie for that. She
had gotten “lippy” and if it meant shutting Shemar up, she was sure Fumie was for it...but no.
Where the hell was this going?
Koi - 1-8-2014 at 06:17 PM
Devyn's pleas were falling on totally deafened ears. Koi wouldn't have heard her or the fear in her voice even if he wanted to. Shemar had him too far
gone. The anger made him see his father and just his father, everything else in the room going blurry, his eyes hot from the rage he felt. This wasn't
the first time that Shemar had pissed Koi off. Hell, that was a fucking "by appearance" type deal, as far as Koi was concerned. It was almost like a
requirement whenever his Pops actually found his way home. But this time...it was different. This time, the anger felt like it was going to burst out
of his fucking chest. He was irrational...defensive. Stupid...which is what he was sure his father was mentally calling him as they stood
inches apart, staring each other down. Because no matter how much Koi hated his father, no matter how much respect he refused to have for him...he
would've never been as close to his face as he was now, snarling at him. Daring him to do anything but back down and get the fuck out of his OWN
house...the very thing he wouldn't do. Koi was sure of it in the way he grabbed Koi's shirt, pulled him towards him and told Koi exactly what would
happen if Koi didn't stand down. If the moment hadn't been so intense, Koi would've smirked. He didn't need a reminder from his father of what the
consequences were if Shemar Kidd didn't get his way in this situation. Because he didn't give a fuck... He didn't care about his father's
threats. He didn't care how quickly he could've made threats real either. All Koi could hear was more disrespecting Devyn...and more challenges.
But before he could open his mouth in rebuttal, Shemar let his shirt go and backed away, the back door chiming, letting them know that someone was
home. Someone being Koi's mother. Koi shook his head at his father, his eyes still fastened on him. No fucking wonder he backed off. Shemar Kidd may
have been an asshole, but he was a smart one. There was no way he would've let his Moms find them in the kitchen with his hands on her son.
Why don't you fill me in... Koi stayed quiet, his eyes bore dangerously into his father who decided that he could tell the situation better
than his son could. He probably could've, even though everything was lies when he started talking. But Koi couldn't...talk. He couldn't stop staring
at his father, even with him mother in the room. And just like Koi expected, she diffused the situation, shushing his father by taking responsibility
of something that she didn't even start!
"Really?" He blurted out. But Devyn's hand on his face shushed the rest of his comment. His anger ready to blast his mother out on how once again
she'd begun cleaning up a mess that wasn't hers.
Fumie - 2-8-2014 at 04:29 AM
Really?
Fumie’s eyes locked with her son’s, widening and silently begging him not to test his damn father. Regardless of whether or not Fumie knew what
was going on, they both knew Shemar Kidd only aggravated a situation. So yes, really. She was dismissing Shemar because it was the simple answer.
Surely Koi didn’t want her to send Devyn away. From the looks of things, she was the one keeping things from going too far. Fumie watched her son
swallow the rest of his words as Devyn stepped in front of him, her hand on his cheek, her thumb resting atop his lips. She was keeping him quiet and
that was exactly what they needed right now. She stepped closer, her eyes falling on her husband once again.
“I’ll handle it, Shemar, really…” She didn’t need to push. Pushing would make it feel like it wasn’t his decision and she knew how much
her “baby” liked control. Ugh. She hated doing this. Fucking excusing him from shit she was sure he started in the first place. Talking about it
like her son was the one out of line here. And in front of Devyn...She might have shaken her head at the thought, but she was doing her best to
convince him that leaving so he didn’t have to “stress” about this was the best option. In actuality, it was the only option. And he took it.
Fumie heaved a heavy sigh of relief as Shemar decided to take her suggestion. She could only hope her son wouldn’t agitate the situation further.
Her husband brushed past her and her eyes again found Koi. “Sweets, please talk to me. What’s going on?” She stepped closer to him as Devyn
stepped back. Fumie’s hand tried to reach out for him, but he wasn’t having it. Was he mad at her?! Impossible. She had literally just walked into
the room. She had fixed something that was obviously about to get out of hand. She hadn’t done anything wrong!
“Koi...I...what?”
Koi - 2-8-2014 at 03:11 PM
He didn't want to be...near her right now. He couldn't stand it. All of the anger he couldn't help feeling at his father coursed through him and
honestly, he didn't think he could stand any more. And his mother...his allowing ass mother and all of her "make it better, take the brunt of the
load" bullshit. He couldn't stand it. That soft, almost pleading voice she was using with his father. Like she'd done something and she hadn't even
been there when the argument started. No, only Shemar had a talent for that bull, being the cause and fire for every situation that had turned wrong
in their household. No, Koi's mother was the "savior", his father's bullshit putting her on a cross every time it went down. That night was nothing
new; her voice balancing between pleading and prodding. The balance was delicate, a tipping in any other direction and the fight would start all over
again. But it worked, Shemar firing another lingering glare in Koi's direction before turned and made his exit, his footsteps ascending the stairs.
Good. The fucker was gone. But there was something about the situation that had the muscles in his stomach still tense, his stomach crawling with as
much irritation and restlessness as it had been when his father was in his face, daring him to make the first move. His eyes rolled as his mother
spoke to him, Devyn's hand leaving his face as she moved to let his mother fill the space she'd just left. He stared at his mother's outreached hand,
his own going up as he backed away from her. He didn't WANT her. He didn't want her to make it better like she would obviously try to do. He didn't
want her to play the buffer. He didn't want her.
"I'm out." He said between his teeth, his legs finally moving. He moved so suddenly, his mother couldn't help but stumble over her words, not
understanding his anger. He didn't expect her to. She never did when it came to him being angry at her for the role she played when it came to his
father. He got it. She wanted to keep the peace. She wanted her family to survive the storms that rolled in whenever Shemar Kidd crossed the threshold
of their home. But Koi was over that lie. He was over her spinning plate act. It was time out for that bullshit and what was more, it was time out for
the sacrificial lamb role that his mother couldn't HELP but fall into.
"You don't understand, right? I don't expect you to..." He spat harshly as he walked out the back door leading to the garage, Devyn walking quickly
behind him as she made her best efforts to keep up.
Devyn - 3-8-2014 at 03:17 PM
He didn’t need to say anything else. Devyn could hear it in his “really?” how much emotion was on the edge of coming out. She could see it in
his face, his skin flushed red and his jaw still clenched. He needed to calm down. She stepped in front of him, between he and his father, now that
Shemar was backing down. They had Fumie to thank for that. So why did it seem like Koi was a long way from thanking her. That really hadn’t been
directed at his father. He was talking to his mom; he was upset with her for talking his dad into leaving. And that became apparent as he stormed off.
“Kid, wait-,” Where was he going? Why was he mad at Fumie? Mouthing an apology to his mom, Devyn started after a quickly retreating Koi and she
was barely keeping up. “Babe, please stop. Just-,” she reached out for him, catching his wrist on a backswing just as he reached the garage door.
“Koi talk to me a second, please.” She was begging him. She didn’t like seeing him like this...It reminded her of Valentine’s Day and neither
of them wanted to relive that. But she was willing to relive it if it meant he wasn’t about to go out and do something stupid.
“I shouldn’t have said anything, kid. I’m sorry,” she paused, her hand sliding down his wrist, her fingers falling between his. “Come with
me? We can get a room...I won’t do any more talking…” She tried to smile, her voice taking the gentle tone Fumie’s had moments earlier talking
to her husband. She didn’t want him to do anything stupid because of her. All of this shit was because of her and she wouldn’t let it get any
worse. She lifted on her toes, her lips pecking his cheek as she waited for his answer.
“You don’t have to be alone right now…”
Koi - 3-8-2014 at 09:59 PM
Rolling his eyes at the sound of Devyn's voice, Koi's steps slowed against his better judgement. Her calling his name, telling him to "wait" on her,
which in normal circumstances wasn't something she would've ever had to ask Koi to do. But that night? She was on the list of things that he needed to
get the fuck away from...especially since most of the shit that had gone down in his kitchen that night had been HER fault. Koi'd said it. He
didn't want to talk about it... He didn't want to discuss the pregnancy that wasn't. They'd dodged that shit with luck that he didn't know that
EITHER of them had and all he wanted to do was stop THINKING about it. And all Devyn wanted to do was talk about it...and the emotions he was supposed
to be feeling. He didn't want to feel anything...especially now. Especially after what her prying had caused with his father. He just wanted her
to...back up. Give him space. But that was the complete opposite of what Devyn wanted to do as she caught him by the wrist, slowing his escape from
his parents...and her too.
"Whatever Devyn." He said simply, shrugging with irritation as she apologized for doing exactly what he tried to stop her from doing. But that was how
things went. Her, always thinking she knew the best when he was obviously telling her what he KNEW to be true. What did she think? That she knew his
parents better than he did? The fuck was she playing at with his dad? Shemar Kidd wouldn't have known what to do with an important conversation if you
paid him and gave him a script. He was a fucking child. But no, Devyn knew what she was doing, right?
He blinked slowly through her apology, her invitation to spend the night forgetting what had just gone down in the kitchen doing nothing for Koi but
making him more annoyed. He just wanted to stop talking...and listening to people talk.
"Nah, I'm good." He refused to look at her as he pulled his hand from hers, stepping away from her closeness. "Really..." His words were dry as he
finally looked down at her...which was the hugest fucking mistake, the mix of feelings hitting her, her face changing...Koi's stomach knotting up at
the sight of it.
"I'm just gonna...go to Dhonny's." Was he? Because he knew what going to Dhonny's house meant. More prying. More "advice" that he didn't want. Another
person talking at him about what he should be doing and how he should be feeling. He didn't know if he could take that tonight.
Fumie - 25-6-2016 at 11:49 AM
Fumie winced, resisting the urge to curse as Zori finished wrapping her foot. He had just pulled a huge piece of what used to be her Lalique vase out
of it. Apparently "help" to Eri had meant Zori. He was here minutes after Shemar left and Fumie honestly couldn't have been more grateful. It seemed
to always be this way with him, appearing when she most needed him. It was a trend that wasn't stopping tonight.
After Zori helped her give Koi a once over and was just as unsuccessful in getting him to go to the hospital, they went to find Eri who was in her
usual place in the closet. Traumatized. This was a mess. It was all a mess and Fumie had no idea where to even start in fixing any of it. She should
have never let it come to this. She should have been more interested in keeping her children safe than telling Shemar off. It hadn't been the time or
the place to go toe to toe with him about...how had this...Oh no...Prom. Fumie had forgotten all about prom. It all seemed small and
insignificant now.
"I didn't mean for her to call you-," she said to Zori for the umteenth time. She just kept pulling him into the hot mess that was her life and she
knew he had to be tired of it. She was. Her favorite moments with him had been the ones in which they could forget her drama. Not when he was riding
in on his white horse to pull her back together. "Thank you for being here, Zo."
She took her foot out of his lap and attempted to stand. She winced again, allowing the pain to settle in her foot as she put weight on it. She needed
to call and let Dhonny know what was going on with Koi. What time was it? He could have easily been on his way here...and she would tell him not to
come. Devyn was going to be disappointed, but this night was ruined. Koi would not be able to handle a "party" right now and, in all honesty, Fumie
didn't want either of her kids away from her right now.
"I can't believe I let this happen..."
Zori - 27-6-2016 at 03:46 PM
As much as Fumie had resisted, Zori knew it. She'd needed a hospital as much as her son had, but it seemed she and Koi were cut from the same cloth.
She needed stitches. A piece of glass about as big as his thumb nail had been lodged in her foot and no matter of sanitizing and wrapping was going to
make that injury heal right. Zori had been surprised that he'd gotten it to stop bleeding. But Fumie wasn't hearing it. She wasn't leaving that house
and she wasn't leaving her children. Zori got it though. He understood. Had it been him? He wouldn't have let his kids out of his sight either. Koi
had to basically pry her off of him just to go upstairs and clean his face...which his bastard of a daddy had made a mess of. Zori shook his head at
his thoughts, putting away the bandages and antiseptic he'd used to take care of Fumie's foot back into the first aid kit he'd gotten them from.
Even though he felt unnecessarily guilty about it, he had no qualms calling Shemar what he was. And yes. He still felt the heaviness in his stomach
sometimes. The tightness in his throat...the heat in his face whenever he visited Fumie's house. Though he understood her and her situation a lot
better now than when they'd first crossed the threshold between friends and "something else", he still couldn't help feeling the shame that
accompanied sneaking around with a married woman. Though, walking in on the aftermath of Shemar's latest "temper tantrum" lessened that shame by a
couple degrees.
"It's okay, Fumie." He said softly, hopefully removing any guilt she felt about Eri calling Zori to intervene in the mess that Shemar'd made, once
again, of his family. She didn't have to do that. There was no need for her to apologize, especially when none of this was a burden for him. Fumie
was...important to him. That made her family equally as important. He'd jumped to action as soon as he'd heard Eri's voice on the line. She hadn't
sounded...right. Her voice, that had always seemed too old and too wise for a little girl like her, was all wrong. She sounded...terrified.
Broken. And it had scared the shit straight out of him. So much so that he'd made it to Fumie's in record time.
"I don't mind this." He said, his fingertips lightly tracing Fumie's bare leg as she moved it to stand on her injured foot. "I don't mind any of this.
You know that."
He watched her quietly as she put her weight on her foot, grimacing as she tested it out. Tried to walk on it. Even as she did that, Zori could see
her mind working. He knew she was thinking. About how she was going to fix it. How she was going to make everything better. It was Koi's prom that
night. And as hard as he'd worked to even GET to prom, now...Zori wasn't so sure if he'd even make it there. Not the way his eye was looking, swollen
so badly that Zori wasn't sure if the boy could even see out of it straight.
"Hey..." He started, standing to his feet. Gently, he reached out for her, his hand grabbing her arm, pulling her to him. Purely by habit, his eyes
scanned the room quickly before he pulled her to him, wrapping his arms around her. He let his lips press against the top of her head before he
spoke.
"You don't get to do that." He muttered, taking time with his words.
"You don't get to blame yourself for something that...he did. He ruined tonight, baby. Not you..."
Fumie - 28-6-2016 at 03:20 PM
Fumie had grown used to not seeking medical attention after one of Shemar's episodes; especially when there was nothing truly wrong with her. She
wasn't bleeding...much. And nothing was broken...well not physically. This family was completely torn apart, so beyond repair that Fumie couldn't even
think about a fix for this. If she were being honest with herself, she knew what the fix was. It was exactly what this fight had been about. A
divorce. She needed to get her family away from their father. It was a thought no mother should ever have to have and yet she'd had it so many
times in the past few years that she'd lost count. She had to ask herself, how had she let this happen? How had she stayed long enough for it to come
to this? Long enough that her 10 year old had to call her mother's boyfriend for help...a boyfriend who "didn't mind".
Zori didn't mind the inconvenience Fumie was causing. He didn't mind having to come help her clean up a mess she'd had a hand in making. He
didn't mind...
"I do." Fumie minded a great deal. None of this should have been happening. Zori shouldn't have been here because Eri called him in a panic. Eri never
should have been in that panic. She never should have felt like she had to jump into a fight between her parents. Fumie shouldn't have had to fight
with Shemar over allowing Koi to do something as simple as going to prom. So, yes. She most certainly minded all of this. She hated it and more
importantly, she hated herself for it.
Zori stood, pulling her gently into him as he called to her. Comforted her. She sighed as his lips pressed against the top of her head and she allowed
herself to settle into the safest place she knew. You don't get to do that. He never let her blame herself. He never let her take
responsibility for what Shemar did. Fumie was slowly coming to see that not everything was her fault, but this...she'd instigated this. There were
plenty of times where she could have submitted. She could have told Shemar what he wanted to hear, waited until he left; which he would definitely do,
and Koi could have had his night. But she didn't. And now things were ruined. Shemar got his way anyway.
"Koi can't go to prom with his face like that, Zo." She spoke into his chest, her arms looping around his waist as she allowed herself to be held for
a while. She didn't care about appearances right now. She needed him. "It doesn't matter who's to blame...he's probably so disappointed and this is a
once in a lifetime night that he has to miss because I-," she stopped herself. Pulling away from Zori as she finally got the nerve to tell him all of
what had happened here.
"I goaded him, Zori...I told him it was over. I asked for a divorce."
Zori - 29-6-2016 at 02:25 PM
I do. Of course she cared about the havoc that Shemar caused in her life. And of course she cared about getting the man that she was dating
on the side involved in it. It was all a little...complicated? Was that the word? Honestly...Zori didn't care. Just like he'd said, he didn't mind it.
None of it. Yeah, at first, it was difficult. Seeing her get text messages from Shemar, her husband. Some nights, hearing her say that she couldn't
stay the night with him. Touching her...in her deepest, most intimate places...and wondering if she was remembering Shemar, reminiscing on the times
when his hands and his words didn't mean "pain". Zori would lay awake at night and wonder...really think to himself. What the fuck was he
doing? But it was moments like this, when he could be there for her...when her could make her pain go away. Moments like this were what made him
stay. It made him batten down the hatches and weather the storms with her. Because...he couldn't leave her alone. Not to handle it all by herself.
"I know, baby...I know." He whispered as Fumie told him what he'd been thinking. Koi couldn't go to prom. Not looking the way he did. Not only because
he'd get questions that he was positive the kid didn't want to answer. But because it would raise eyebrows. Important eyebrows. And he knew Fumie
would come under fire that Zori knew she wasn't ready for. School officials. Medical...the Press. Fumie seemed like she hadn't even fully processed
what had gone down in their living room. How the hell was she going to explain what her family really was behind closed doors?
"He worked so damn hard." Zori exhaled, holding her tighter as she talked about how disappointed Koi would be, how all of it was ruined because
she...
"Because you what?" His words probably went unheard, Fumie pulling herself away from him, looking him his eyes as she steadied herself and...
I told him it was over. I asked for a divorce.
Zori's eyes widened before he could stop his reaction. He exhaled again, his mouth hanging open as he processed what Fumie'd just told him. The
fight...it was because of that? He thought she'd said it had been about prom, but...wait. What? That simple statement that shouldn't have been as
heavy as it was sat in the air, surrounded by silence. She'd asked for a divorce.
"Wow." That was basically the only thing Zori could think to say. Not because it wasn't something that needed to happen. Of course Fumie needed to
divorce Shemar. Not because she was...dating a man that for damn sure wasn't her husband. No...because she knew it...and Zori knew. She had to leave.
She HAD to leave him.
"How you feeling about that?" Was that the question Zori wanted to ask her? Of course not. Does he know about me? That was more like it.
Hell, questions weren't really on his list of things to do either. Telling her she deserved to be away from that goddamn monster. Telling her he
supported her and he'd be by her through the entire shit storm. Telling her he loved her. Those were the more appropriate responses...
Fumie - 2-7-2016 at 04:08 AM
Fumie watched his eyes widen at her words and immediately wondered if she'd said too much. She didn't want him to think her confession was more than
it was. This wasn't her pushing him for commitment or asking him to marry her. In truth, after what had happened tonight, Fumie could easily see
taking a break from relationships with any men for a while. She could easily see taking some time to find herself and figure out her life after
Shemar...She was only telling Zori what happened. Because this time was her fault. She knew how Shemar would react. She'd planned for it and still
she'd pushed. Fumie had been more than willing to take her lumps and serve him with the papers after, but her children weren't willing to allow that
and they had never been part of her plan.
Fumie sighed as Zori did, a short response to her confession on his lips. Wow. Yeah Wow. After twenty years with her abusive husband, Fumie
had finally found the spine to stand up and make him her ex. Koi and Eri never should've been home when she'd confronted Shemar though. Because now
they were here; with Koi cleaning up his face, Eri unable to stop her tears, and Fumie trying to figure out how they all move forward and how she was
supposed to feel about any of it.
She had been happy. Embarrassingly, deliriously happy when she realized that she could leave. That she was the only one still holding herself back.
Now though? After what she'd let her tormenter do to her children...she was a little scared. Fumie could only imagine how messy Shemar would let the
divorce get. He would want to take everything from her, which would be more than fine if she thought he would leave her children out of it. But she
knew he wouldn't. Shemar would fight for custody of the kids he hated; the kids he didn't even know. He would pull out every stop to twist their
situation into something it wasn't if it meant making her unhappy. She was afraid to leave... but she was terrified of staying.
"I...I don't know-," she really didn't. It was so...complicated. Fumie sighed. "I just want my kids to be happy and safe and I know they could never
be that with him. I can't either."
Zori - 3-7-2016 at 05:56 PM
Fumie leaving Shemar. Their divorce. It wasn't as simple as that, Zori knew that... with no questions asked. He'd never watched someone go
through a divorce, but it seemed like a hell of a lot of red tape, money and lawyers. And that was only the beginning of the battle that Zori was sure
that it would be for Fumie. Shemar was an asshole. Nothing about this journey was going to be easy for her. He'd drag her through as much mud as he
could make. Mud that involved her children, their home, the foundation that Fumie founded and ran...hell, even Zori. And honestly, he couldn't wait to
see the story Shemar spun about him...if he even knew about him yet. About them, he meant. He and Fumie, otherwise known as the "indecent"
relationship that moments like this made Zori not give a damn about being in. Which he was sure his Momma would shake her head and threaten to tear
his hide if she found out. But he didn't regret it anymore...being with Fumie. Supporting her while her world flipped upside down. Picking up the
broken pieces with her. That was what they were. Sure, hey hadn't put a name on it exactly...and Zori wasn't in a rush. He knew when to take his time.
"Nothing that you said...or did was wrong." He reassured her as she explained her decision, which she never had to do. She didn't have to explain
leaving Shemar to him. Zori'd witnessed more than enough in that evening alone to understand the actions she was taking.
"You're doing what you need to do for you...and for the kids. That doesn't need an explanation." He slid his hand behind her neck, rubbing her there
reassuringly.
Smiling, he let his hand slide down to her shoulder, squeezing it softly moving away from her before one of the kids came into the kitchen and saw
them close. Intimate. Enough had gone down that evening in that house. Explaining what Zori and Mommy were wasn't something he wanted to add to the
list of events. Those kids had been through enough.
"Well...since you won't let me take you to the hospital..." He smirked, still regretting that decision as he'd just pulled a sliver of glass out of
her foot, that cut looking nastier than she'd admit.
"...you could at least let me whip something up for you and the kids...just until you figure out what to do about Koi's prom." Ipo had gone for the
evening, way before the altercation with Shemar had started. Zori knew that comfort food wouldn't make anything better, but he didn't mind trying what
he could to put the evening back together.
Fumie - 3-7-2016 at 06:39 PM
She sometimes wondered if Zori meant the things he told her or if he was just trying to make her feel better. He couldn't have possibly believed that
she hadn't made terrible decisions tonight. She knew her part in things and while she was learning that not everything was her fault, she
couldn't deny that she had encourages Shemar's violence. She laughed, she taunted him, she confessed her hatred for him more than once. Fumie had laid
it all out for Shemar and she had literally dared him to do his fucking worst. She'd told him to kill her. With Koi standing there watching, she'd
choked out a weak "do it" before he actually attempted choking the life out of her.
"I said and did plenty wrong, babe...I'm a fucking disaster." She sighed, pulling her hands through her hair as she rolled her neck a little.
He still didn't believe it. According to Zori she'd done what she had to do. That was partly true. She wasn't arguing that what she'd done didn't need
to happen. Just that it shouldn't have happened when her kids were home. She allowed him to comfort her anyway, his hand sliding behind her neck,
letting her know he was still there with her. She found herself giving a small smile that matched his as he moved away from her. She was falling for
him.
Fumie would be honest, she wasn't sure about her feelings for Zori when she started feeling him. She knew he was different and he made her feel
wanted, but she had been so disconnected from love and attention for so long that it could have just been pure infatuation. Maybe even just lust.
She'd wanted him from the beginning, but she hadn't known for sure what that meant until their first time together in his office. And that feeling
only intensified in the care he showed the morning after. She was feeling what she felt like love should feel like. But how could she trust herself to
know? She'd been married to Shemar for so long she wasn't sure she could trust her judgement of anything...But Zori was good. That much she knew.
"Please. Don't-," she waved his request to cook off. As if he needed to do anymore than he already had for her. She couldn't let him do...Fumie
stopped, her head turning toward the stairs as she listened. She thought at first that she was hearing Eri at the stairs a light knock sounding a bit
like her feet padding back downstairs now that she was sure it was safe. But it lasted too long and the rhythm was steady. Someone was knocking
upstairs. She knew it wasn't Koi, he wasn't in any space to check on Eri, he wasn't even taking care of himself.
"Eri, sweets, what's happening?" she yelled it, waiting to hear her response. Feeling dread as it didn't come. Hearing herself mutter a concerned,
"What now?" as she headed toward the stairs.
