Housing Tutorial

Aloha and welcome to Kapuhai Reef, a Sim based Role-Play site!

So you got started and now you need housing? How do you get it?

Before doing anything, be sure you actually NEED housing. It's not a requirement for membership and not all characters use it. When putting in the application be sure that you:

  1. Know where you would like your character to live.
  2. Have near-future plans for using the space.
  3. Have your pictures prepared for the space.

Where would you like to stay?

Currently there are seven (7) different areas in which your character can live. You can find a description for each right here. Some of them have requirements other than post count, so be sure to note the price of each area.

Some areas are marked with an asterisk:

These areas require a high post count, however exceptions will be made for avid participation on the site. You can PM an Admin (Kiki or Ally) or find one in the cbox and usually work something out.

Some areas require your character to have certain characteristics:

It's pretty self-explanatory and as long as you meet the requirements for housing and your character has the needed characteristics, you will be granted housing.

Filling out an Application

The application for your character's housing can be found right here. It's pretty straight forward.

]

  1. The "Home Owner" can be either your character or an NPC (non-playable character) that your character is living with.
  2. If your character has a roommate (more "Occupants" than one) that belongs to another person (i.e., a character that is not yours) you can add those two post counts together for more housing options. However, if the characters acting as roommates have the same owner, the only post count taken into account which is applying for housing.
  3. You can request that your character's housing be "Password Protected". This will prevent people without the password to your thread from reading its contents.

Pictures for rooms should be included with the housing application.

Pictures

Each area of your character's residence requires a photo to represent the space. The pictures can either be found on the internet or taken in-game (Sims 2/ Sims 3/ Sims 4).

You're welcome to copy this box to get the dimensions in whatever photo editor you use.

A Quick Example

The title (the box marked "Subject:") of your thread should be [Character Name--Housing] or something along those lines (without the brackets). So for example:

Brokey McPoverty-Housing Application

Name: Brokey McPoverty
Age: 24
Location Desired: Cinder Street Housing
Home Owner: Notasbroke McPoverty
Occupants: Brokey and Notasbroke McPoverty
Money: 15 (Assuming Brokey has made 15 posts)
Do you want it password protected?: No.

Of course, the pictures have to be photos of ACTUAL ROOMS, but for the purposes of this tutorial I just used place holders.
